As someone who trained as a record and library technician, I can 100% confirm you need a degree. Cataloging books is not something you can learn on the fly. It's really not that simple. The Dewey classification system isn't as simple as it looks. And the LC is even worse.

Tom, or anyone else really, doesn't have to make his opinions known on every subject. Even this one. For all we know, he's donated money to UNWRA or UNICEF to help out.

Zawe’s most recent posts have been about Gaza and asking politicians to speak out or help, in one instance saying how fear silences artists from speaking out, but tom has a bigger platform and has met royalty before and has more connections and he is quiet. He can’t really say marvel prevents him from speaking out because mark ruffalo and benedict cumberbatch both have spoken out. I wonder how they manage that relationship wise.

If it wasn’t so frequent with her posts I wouldn’t wonder it, but it’s every few days lately and it seems to be a huge thing for her (rightfully so imo as a mother myself it’s awful seeing what’s happening).

What are your thoughts?

I think just today she posted a story about the bbc being biased against talking about Gaza.

I think this is something that Zawe has chosen to speak about on her own and not everything she does has to be linked back to her partner. That’s for them to discuss and I’m not worried about what Tom is or isn’t posting.

Also tbh I don’t see a world in which Zawe feels so passionate about this subject and Tom doesn’t give a fuck. Maybe you have that opinion of him, but I don’t. If you want to discuss Tom more, please do so on a Tom blog.

I have zero sympathy for them. None at all. They voted to make other peoples lives miserable. They don't deserve any kind of sympathy.

That user may not be trying to dunk, but I am. As that user said, Republicans at the RNC gleefully held signs at the RNC saying "mass deportations now" and everyone heard Trump saying Haitian immigrants were eating cats and dogs. There was no "information environment" that hid this information from voters. They heard Trump's explicit promises of violent xenophobia loud and clear. They knew. We all knew.

We have got to stop treating voters like children who can't possibly be held accountable for their actions. There's a fucking legal age requirement for voting for a reason--because it's assumed that by the age of 18, people are old enough to understand the world around them and that there's a cause/effect with their actions. These MAGA fucks weren't some sheltered, lost lambs who had no idea what they were doing. Every Trump voter did vote to deport moms, it's just that some never thought they would face consequences for their actions, so now they're trying to rewrite history and deflect blame. That's all it is.

Democratic politicians may not be able to treat them with the contempt they deserve without facing electoral backlash, but the rest of us are under no obligation to entertain these people's lies. People refusing to hold MAGA accountable for supporting the most gleefully, proudly awful person alive is a big reason why we're back in this fucking hell 8 years later. These people should have been shamed from polite society way back in 2016. Fuck them. The guilt should keep them up at night for the rest of their lives.
