Yellowcard (top left) Simple Plan (top right) D12 (middle left) Kelly Clarkson (middle right) Tim McGraw (bottom left) Eminem (bottom right) Good Morning America Interview
“My CD collection is very interesting. I’ve got so many country albums but then I’ve got like, Yellow Card and Simple Plan and D12 and like, everybody. Kelly Clarkson, I mean, I listen to everything. For real, like everything. And when my friends come over, they’re like, ‘Oh my god, you’ve got Tim McGraw next to Eminem. What is wrong with you?’ But it’s just… I love music. I love pop melodies and I love country stories and I love rock songs and I just love it all.”

The Story by Brandi Carlile How To Save A Life by The Fray Breathe (2 AM) by Anna Nalick Elle Magazine Interview (2019)
"I’m highly biased, but I think that the way music can transport you back to a long forgotten memory is the closest sensation we have to traveling in time... When I hear “How to Save a Life” by The Fray, “Breathe (2AM)” by Anna Nalick, or “The Story” by Brandi Carlile, I immediately flashback to being seventeen and on tour for months on end."

I Write Sins Not Tragedies by Panic! At The Disco Elle Magazine Interview (2019)
“I’m clutching a guitar and learning to play the chords and sing the words at the same time, rehearsing for a gig at a coffee house. When I hear “I Write Sins Not Tragedies’” by Panic! At The Disco, I’m transported back to being sixteen and driving down the streets of Hendersonville, Tennessee, with my best friend Abigail, euphorically screaming the lyrics.”

Cowboy Take Me Away by The Chicks Elle Magazine Interview (2019)
“I’m highly biased, but I think that the way music can transport you back to a long forgotten memory is the closest sensation we have to traveling in time. To this day, when I hear "Cowboy Take Me Away" by the Dixie Chicks, I instantly recall the feeling of being twelve years old, sitting in a little wood paneled room in my family home in Pennsylvania.”

The Little Mermaid directed by Ron Clements and John Musker New York Times Screen Test Interview in 2009
“The first movie that I remember seeing was The Little Mermaid, and my parents still tell me stories about going to see that movie with me, and I think I was three years old at the time, and on the way home from seeing that movie in the theaters, I was in the car, in the backseat singing the words to the songs that I’d heard in the movie and they kind of looked at each other and were really confused as to how I was remembering the words after seeing the movie only once.”

Blue by LeAnn Rimes New York Times Screen Test Interview in 2009
“The first song that made me fall in love with country music was Blue by LeAnn Rimes. That song just completely resonated with me and I think what resonated with me even more was that she was young and she was doing these things that I could only dream about doing. All the things that I would daydream about in my bedroom, she was up there doing, and she was fourteen years old and I thought there was something so motivating about that.”

Stargirl by Jerry Spinelli Schoolastic Book Fair Web Chat
"I read this book called Stargirl that is about this girl who's very different from everybody else in her school and people call her weird but no matter how much tehy make fun of her, she just continues to be herself and pretty soon, that individuality rubs off on everybody else, that they all wanna be like her. So Stargirl was an amazing book that I read."

Heartthrob by Tegan and Sara Lucky Magazine: December 2014 issue interview
The sound of the album is unapologetic pop, and when I mention it reminds me of Teagan & Sara’s Heartthrob, Swift beams. She is, she says, “a Teagan and Sara purist” and a huge fan of that record. “I’ve been loving albums like that. They capture the essence of a period of time that’s gone, but they still sound great on the radio today.”

Superman Superman (song) and The Speak Now World Tour (September 24, 2011 in Kansas City, Missouri)
"This is about, well, a guy, as usual. This was a guy that I was sort of enamored with. This song got its title by something that I just said randomly in conversation. He walked out of the room, and I looked over at one of my friends and said, 'It's like watching Superman fly away.' This one's called Superman."

Heya! I remember a very very old interview where Taylor said her favourite non-US band was Sigur Ros. That must have been like Speak Now era od maybe even Fearless. I bet @taylor-on-your-dash knows more about it and has it in her interviews spreadsheet!
Hi, thanks for the ask! ✨ Effi (we're friends lol) isn't responding despite me tagging her three times, and I actually was able to find the interview by myself after a bit (rare occurence! Effi usually helps me with this sort of thing, she's very talented). It doesn't have a year for the website I could find, but it used a Speak Now era picture, so it's obv Speak Now era. So here you go! She mentions a lot of things I could post about in this interview, but I'll start with this band I've never heard of:

Sigur Rós Oprah.com interview by Scott Frampton
"My 18-year-old brother turned me on to the Icelandic band Sigur Rós—they make me happy and take me away to dreamland. I love trying to memorize the words, even though they're singing in their own language. Sometimes I'll make up some lyrics. It gets pretty interesting."

Hi! I'm Sarah, I've been a Swiftie since the summer of 2012, and I have many sideblogs. My main is @sarahsrep and I also run @unreleasedtaylorsongs and @obscuretaymerch.
I recently came across a Batman blog (I'm huge into DC Comics) that had references of every Batman character that has referenced something in pop culture, and I wanted to do the same for my other special interest, Taylor Swift ✨
The other person's blog allows users to send asks with media, so if someone comes across Taylor saying "I really like this album," they can send it to the person running the blog and they'll answer, so I'll do that too, feel free to use the ask feature to send something you've seen!
They also organized their blog with tags, making it easier for someone to find that, so I'll post a tag guide here too, and add to it accordingly. So far, I'll post...
Album: Revival by Selena Gomez (Album: Title by Artist) Song: Rock God by Selena Gomez & The Scene (Song: Title by Artist) Movie: The Lego Movie (Movie: Title) TV Show: Grey's Anatomy (TV Show: Title) Brand: Nintendo (Brand: Title) Celebrity: Selena Gomez (Celebrity: Name) Video Game: Red Dead Redemption 2 (Video Game: Title) Book: Stargirl by Jerry Spinelli (Book: Title by Author) Character: Superman (Character: Name, for when the character only has been referenced, and not any specific piece of media the character was in) For tags, I'll also use generic ones, so if you want to search movies, just search the tag "movie" on my profile. I'll include a short list of those too: movie, song, album, celebrity, book, and character.
I won't be including the basics, like I'm not gonna say Brand: The Grammy Awards or Movie: The Eras Tour. This blog is more for random references she's made throughout the years.
Also, I've made a playlist for all the songs Taylor has referenced! It will only include songs she's talked about, not anything she's added to an entire playlist, because those playlists are already out there. However, if she mentions a song separately and it gets added to a playlist, that will go on my playlist :)
Does Taylor Listen To... Playlist on Spotify
