Stories In The Dream

1. One morning I woke up thinking, "Today is the day Del and I are going to have to go next door and tell our neighbor to stop letting his dog come into our carport and use it for a toilet." Good idea, except we don't have a carport nor is there a dog that lives next door.

2. A Satellite Company had sent our information to a credit collection agency claiming that we had not returned their two receivers. This is in spite of the fact we had delivery proof and had been assured that all was OK after calling at least 5 times (on that issue alone). Now they claimed we had taken the card out of one of them so we owed the entire $150.00 for the receiver.

Having experienced these kinds of issues with them the entire time we had their service, my first reaction was anger at the injustice of the accusation, and the fact that I had to defend myself against something we had not done.

3. It was just one more thing in our rental home that didn't work right. The knob for the heater in the living room didn't make one bit of difference. I turned it up, it didn't get warmer, I turned it down, and it didn't get cooler. For weeks I fiddled with it and then decided I would I have to call the landlord in the morning.

The next morning on the way to the phone to make the call, I walked past the knob and realized that for two weeks I had been fiddling with the wrong knob. The heater IT was controlling was working just fine and of course when I found the correct knob it worked too. What makes it even sillier is I had already worked the correct knobs for over a month. It's just one day I forgot there were two.

What do these three stories have in common? I was dreaming.

In the first story it is obvious it was just a dream. And as a dream it is equally obvious that the dreamer - me - and the dream were one.

OK, you may be thinking, "But two of these stories weren't dreams, they really happened." Yes they really did - but where did they happen? They happened in the human dream. And once again the dreamer and the dream were one. It was my "state of mind perception" and my "point of view perception" that "created" the dream.

In the satellite incident I was already caught up in a belief of injustice. Not just about the Satellite Company but "out there" in the world. Aren't we all daily bombarded with reports of poverty, mistreatment, wars, crimes, and man's inhumanity to man?

This bombardment enforces the "point of view perception" that there is another power than Divine Love and it's doing a great job of taking over. In turn this "point of view perception" builds a "state of mind perception" of fear, doubt, and outrage. Of course these two modes of perception perpetuate each other until most of what we perceive is exactly this picture in one form or another.

The last story clearly illustrates what happens in a state of mind and point of view perception that "things don't always work as they should." We become blind to what is.

Did you notice one more thing these three stories have in common? In each one an "outside force, a dog, a satellite company, a "missing" heater knob, had made a mess in our life. Symbolically the dream made it clear that it was time to say, "It's time to stop allowing this to happen."

Playing in the dream of human mortal existence is sometimes pleasant. It's when the dream turns "bad" that we start thinking that it just might be time to wake up, and sooner or later all human perceptions will turn "bad".

Let's all wake up from the human worldview. To do so we must start from the point of view and state of mind perception that there is only One Divine Power, not two. In order to experience the Truth of this statement, we must maintain this perception no matter how real the dream of a separate power appears to be.

Saying 2 plus 2 = 5 doesn't make it real, even if everyone we know keeps telling us its true. On the other hand it will always be true that 2 plus 2 = 4 even if no one but you seems to remember this fact. A wrong statement, or perception, does not change the truth about Truth and a correct perception does not create the Truth, it reveals it.

The Truth is there is just One power. As we hold to this Truth and live it, even as we appear to dream, the dreamer we call "me" and the dream will dissolve revealing the "me" and "you" that are One; where there is only the Principle of Divine Love as Infinite Mind unfolding its Being as "Us".

to all the boys i’ve loved before (nct dream version)

i write a letter when i have a crush so intense that i don’t know what else to do. there’s 7 total (cause nct dream will always be ot7 in my heart):

mark lee, my giggly desk mate from english class last year. he’s a perfectionist, but i really admire his work ethic and gentle personality. 

haechan, the class clown. bright and energetic, he shines radiantly like the sun. and not to mention he has the voice of an angel.

chenle, the boy next door. we took piano lessons together, but he’s actually my sister’s boyfriend. i wish i had had the courage to tell him sooner….

jeno, the most popular guy at our school. although he’s a jaw dropping hottie and star athlete, don’t let his cool guy aura fool you. this boy is a sweetie in disguise. he loves animals, especially cats, and his crescent moon eye smile is to die for. 

then, there’s jisung from the dance team. he’s the most talented dancer at our school, his routines always sharp and never out of time. he’s shy offstage, but he’s just so adorable who could resist?

here comes along renjun from art class. he and i would spend hours after school in the studio working on projects and talking about aliens. i’ve never met someone as quirky and adorkable as he is. he is a true artist in painting, drawing, and with words. 

and finally, there’s jaemin na, my best friend and the one i’m currently in love with. he’s such a flirt that i don’t even know if his increased affection and sweet gestures towards me are out of love or just jaemin being jaemin..

had a Sanders Sides dream

At first it was kind of vague, all I could really understand is that Thomas had abandoned his sides. After that he was determined to do everything on his own, he was really angry a lot of the time, and he was working on some project with his friends. I remember Joan and Talyn but there was at least one other friend there but I don’t remember who. At the same time, the sides were kept kinda locked in a separate room so they wouldnt try to return to Thomas. At some point Thomas tries to kick all his friends out of the project, insisting he can do it all himself. He shakes out of whatever spell he’s been under that whole time when Joan starts relenting as well, seemingly having given up because their friend is not acting like himself anymore and talking to him isn’t helping. In that moment Thomas realizes all the awful things he let happen, let himself do, and excuses himself to the separate room to reconect with the sides. Logan and Patton go first, then there’s a slight moment where it’s implied that Roman ceased to exist but then it turns out he was just in the bathroom and Virgil is just bad at communicating. After “fusing back” with Roman he tries to get Virgil back but they are unable at first. Both panic because they think it means Thomas is too far gone or something but Thomas realizes that maybe they’re just too anxious. So they do the breathing exercise and they succeed this time. Then he turns to Deceit and tells him he needs all of them. Deceit reveals he was the only one that stayed connected to him to help him lie to himself that he didn’t need his sides and lie to his friends that he didn’t need them. He only left him when he was about to lie to Joan, realizing that this isn’t what Thomas really wants or needs, even if he thinks it is right now. Only when he left Thomas was able to feel awful for the way he was acting, no longer excusing himself. So Deceit thinks Thomas is better off without him, but Thomas corrects him, saying he wouldn’t have done any of that if Thomas didn’t put him in such a difficult spot. He insists he will never let that happen again. Deceit agrees to return to him, and he goes back to his friends and apologizes for everything, finally himself again.

When suddenly

“No!” a force pushes all five sides out of him “you don’t need them! You don’t need anyone! They’re all just slowing you down!”

Thomas holds his head in pain, shaking it “that’s not true!”

“Thomas, he won’t let us back in!” Virgil calls to him “take our hands, it’ll keep you connected to us!”

So they form this circle and every hand squeeze sends this energy through them to Thomas and they each explain why he can and should rely on his friends and why he needs his sides

“it is illogical to try to do everything myself when there are people willing to help me”

“my friends love me for who I am and want me to be happy and be myself. I am not myself without my sides.”

“trying to do everything alone means a bigger chance I’ll fail and even if I succeed it isn’t worth losing myself in the process.”

“my sides make me who I am and give me strength to go on when times are tough, and my friends give me the courage and inspiration I need, they are what motivates me to keep moving forward.”

“there is no point in denying that i am not myself without the sides I know and love, because I am left with only you.”

My Ego.

Trying to convince me I’m better than everyone else, that I don’t need any help, that I need to do everything by myself or it’s not really an achievement. You do all this because you’re too proud to accept any help, because you feel worthless every time you need it.

My Jealousy.

You played a part in this as well, because you hate to think there are things my friends can do that I can’t.

And my Wrath.

You made me very angry at anyone who got in my way, who tried to help me, making it impossible for them to do so, because I was too mad to listen.

My Ego was in charge but you two were more than willing to help him. You’re all apart of me too, just like the rest of the sides, but no one side should ever have that much control.

It’s time to go back to normal.

So granted a good portion of the ending I figured out after I woke up but I’m pretty sure if I kept dreaming the story would have reached a similar conclusion.

Anyway that’s the weird fucking dream I had lol.

Goodbye AlphaDream

It's truly a shame, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't somewhat expect it. The M&L series has been in decline ever since Dream Team. The series peaked with Bowser's Inside Story. It was only a matter of time.

Perhaps this will open Nintendo's eyes to the demand for a more fully-fleshed "classic-styled" Mario RPG like the original Paper Mario trilogy and Mario & Luigi trilogy - stories and experiences with a lot of heart.

Then again, perhaps this will make Nintendo drop the idea of Mario RPGs altogether. That would be very sad.

Either way, Alpha Dream will be missed. From their humble beginnings full of tomatoes, to their golden age of whimsical plumbers, they will be remembered.

what kind of cursed timeline in which people are calling Matt Bomer ugly (???), boring (????) and a straight white male (gay, married to his husband, they got 3 kids and they publicly support and donate to many charities, mainly LGBTQ+ ones, and he’s been doing volunteer work for years) are we living in because I hate it here
