coworker guy: looks a good mix of amused and embarrassed

barista: it's ok, he's into lesbians both him and coworker visibly laughing now, coworker shoving this guy nah jk jk, you have a great day, bye!

Lance Sweets is great representation for autistics whose special interest is people. Cause you can spend every day of your life learning about psychology and sharpening your social skills, until you're actually way better at reading people than most neurotypicals, but that's ultimately not gonna do much in helping you make friends. Cause in the end, no amount of social skills can make you stop acting like yourself, so you're always gonna be that weird kid everyone thinks is annoying.

I need him to be canon desperately

he would have the highest health the party, take slightly less damage, and essentially act as a tank for unskilled players. like me

in the light world, he is a total hermit and is rarely seen in hometown despite having grown up there and lived there for his entire life. he spends his time knitting shawls and sewing clothes. sometimes he leaves his house to dump piles of new clothing items at the church. ralsei seems to know him really well, which confuses the others.

GUESS WHO’S UP JONGERRY POSTING AGAIN

i think every version of jon and gerry across the multiverse meet at least once. they are crucial to each others’ stories. they set each other free—gerry finally tells jon about the fears, giving him more awareness, freeing him metaphorically from his place of ignorance, while jon literally frees gerry by releasing his ghost from earth. they will always cross paths. they have to.

in tmagp, even the voice in the computer that sounds like jon, which might be the last scraps of his soul, sends sam to that world’s gerry. because gerry helped him. 

in another life jon and gerry got to meet. they got to know each other. they got to be friends, roommates, even partners. 

there is a lifetime without the fears, where they met at school as kids. a life where jon stumbled into pinhole books and kept coming back to see that cashier. a life where gerry wandered into a bar just in time to see the strangest cabaret band. lifetimes where they meet on cigarette breaks at their normal 9-5. lifetimes where they meet at uni, where they’re randomly assigned roommates or catch each other’s eye across the room during lectures. lifetimes where gerry introduces himself as “gerard delano” instead of “gerard keay.”

there’s lifetimes where they meet at the institute. where the research assistant bringing gertrude files piques gerry's interest. where cancer didn’t kill gerry too soon and he was there all along, fighting jane prentiss alongside jon. lifetimes where the cancer doesn’t kill him but jon is there with him at every visit to the hospital. there’s lifetimes where gerry is the archivist and those where jon is still the archivist, but a little more aware this time. a life where gerry, only 9 years old himself, ripped A Guest For Mr. Spider out of jon’s hands and burned it right there in the park. those where they met hunting down leitners. 

there’s a life where gerry finally gets ahold of the catalog of the trapped dead and finds a ghost named jon trapped within its pages. there is one where jon doesn’t burn that page.

there’s even a life where gerry brings down the knife that kills the eye’s pupil. there’s one where jon is holding the knife instead. 

there’s a lifetime where they’re married.

In honor of the Ides of March today, I was planning on convincing my coworkers to all stab our manager with the dull chefs knives that lie forgotten in the back room, but then in what I can only assume was divine intervention from Caesar himself, or perhaps Brutus due to his guilt, I got a migraine and went home early.

We’ll get him next year, though. Mark my words.

Thinking about Jonathan Simms.

Thinking about how Martin's so silly with his all being surprised about Jon, when the whole 198, 199, and 200 Jon is definitely using his "I feel guilty, time to sacrifice myself to save the world" voice like. Of course Jon was going to eschew the plan and sacrifice himself anyway. Of course. That's why he apologized sincerely to all of them in the hallway after they make their plan. He knows he will betray them all one last time.

Thinking about how none of the other survivors really understand Jon. How none of them realize that deep down just how used Jon feels. He didn't want to end the world, Jonah Magnus laid the groundwork for him as a child. It was inevitable, and Jon could do nothing about it. The description in 199 he gives to Martin of how it felt to read the words... even Martin when he was being led astray by Peter wasn't quite this violently used.

Thinking about how it's eerily similar, the guilt Jon has, to how someone feels after a sexual assault. That horrible inability to escape it. That it happened to you, and you could do nothing about it, and you just have to keep living with that body. And it's tragic that no one took the time to understand how hurt he was over it all. They all had their preconceived visions of what Jon was and missed the core of Jon's hurt and that's why the series had to end like this. Because Jon needed to take his power back and this was the only way he knew how.

Thinking about how Basira and Melanie and Georgie and even Martin in those final moments talk about "we all make mistakes" but Jon didn't make mistakes he was used and this distinction is so critical and they all miss it and god it kills me to hear him. He's really just a shell of himself through most of S5 but particularly so in those last few episodes leading up to 200. That intro scene is the most fire Jon's had since.... since the coma really.

Thinking about how when Martin throws out another "how much of you is even left now" its such a horrible take because it just makes Jon into this 'other' thing... like is Martin even in love with Jon? The eye is in him, sure, but Jon didn't change or become different. The fears have always been marking him, using him for their own ends, that's why Jonah picked Jon in the first place. How Jon's truly been used by all the fears (which he has) so of course Jon isn't going to come out of this okay.

Thinking about the slight wavering crack in Jon's voice, even as the Eye takes hold of him, trying to convince Martin "It's still me, I'm still Jon" trying desperately to believe it himself. And the reality is that he is still Jon. This is always who Jon has been - someone on the edge of monstrous, and when you're standing on the edge all it takes is a push to fall.

its tragic to see a tv show that has such potential for good fanfic, but because their fans are all straight people, such little fanfic is written for them. such fertile soil only to never plant a seed
