"Oh, are we feeling a bit insecure, Montgomery? Don't worry, I actually find your company alright," he chuckled as he quickly made the drinks, moving around the bar with ease. "But to answer your question, no, I'm not rude to all my customers, but considering you're drinking free drinks, you're not really a customer, are you? -- Plus, I know you can take it, Ian. Who knows, maybe you'll even grow to like it a bit." He finished with a laugh and a wink as he reached for the slices of lime, before plopping one in each drink and handing one over to the man from across the bar. He took a sip of his own and let out a pleased sigh, "God, that's good gin." He made his way from behind the bar and eventually settled near the man, "Yeah I'm going to need you to up the ante here, bud, get creative."
"So, which one is it with me, then? Obligation, or...?" he trailed off, allowing the question to ring out through suggestive silence. Ian was the type of person who could typically keep a conversation flowing with relative ease, though he seldom had patience for uninteresting conversations. "Couldn't it be?" Ian flashed the club owner a cheeky grin, fingers drumming absentmindedly on the bar top. "Excuse you, I said I wasn't original, not that I was cheap. Are you this rude to all of your customers, Dom? Or just the really handsome ones." In all honesty, he found the male's prickly exterior and sharp wit charming -- perhaps that said a lot more about Ian than he was readily willing to admit.
"Oh, I have plenty of moves." He noted, brows arched. "My best ones do involve going somewhere a little more private, but I can search through my catalogue some more, too. In the meantime; what are you drinking?"

What skill or talent do you most envy in someone closest to you?
"My assistant has really great selective hearing. I've fired her three times already and yet she still comes to work. I think that'd come in handy."

What is your favorite strategy for avoiding conflict?
"I don't have one. I think one of the counselors at that behavioral camp even called me 'conflict pursuant'."

WHAT WOULD YOU DO DIFFERENTLY IF YOU KNEW NOBODY WOULD JUDGE YOU?
"Sweetheart, I've been living my life as if nobody was judging me since I was 14. People didn't care about the serious shit, so why should I give a damn if they care about the stupid shit? It's my life and I'm going to live it how I want to."

"Eh, all depends on my mood. And how much I want to get laid," Dom responded comparatively, chuckling. He had dealt with much worse, so a boring conversation in an attempt to keep from spending a night alone wasn't too much of a struggle. Dom had mastered the look of interest while his mind wandered, although it wasn't something he was having to employ now. "Is it?" he questioned, laughing, "Didn't know being a cheapskate was a move." Whether Ian was actually trying to make moves on him or was trying to make him laugh was yet to be seen, Dom didn't really mind either option, though. He was fun to hang out with and he was handsome and Dom was fairly sure with both their behaviors, if anything were to happen, it probably wouldn't amount to more, which was exactly how he liked it.
"Only a little, gotta see if you have any other moves, after all." he finished with a raised brow, already getting to work, inconspicuously grabbing the top shelf gin.
"My mother raised me right, too, but even I don’t stick around for conversation simply out of obligation. I don’t have nearly enough patience for that," he pointed out with a wry grin, trying to get the other male to loosen up a bit. Ian understood, though, the hard exterior that Dom had built up over himself — it was out of protection, an armor that he wore for fear that he would get hurt again. He could definitely relate to that fear, but it manifested differently; an unwavering bravado in the face of people he didn’t know, an obsession with keeping things tidy and in line for fear of being enveloped by absolute chaos. They were two sides of the same coin, really. "Or I’m trying to be super smooth and buy you a drink at your own bar. That’s kind of a move, isn’t it?" he teased, watching as Dom took position behind the bar and leaning forward on his elbow as he faced him. "Just a gin and tonic. I’m not at all original," he practically waved off the notion, preferring the simpler things in life to anything rather elaborate. It was why he still lived in a small, two-bedroom apartment as opposed to a rather lavish condo that he could definitely afford if he wanted to. "Does this mean you’ll indulge with me a little?"
