ART FIGHT MASS POST :D

It's that time of the year where I share all of my drawings for art fight into one long post!!! I had quite the fun time this year and made even more attacks than I did last year! There were also some new things for me that I did like friendly fire and a small mass attack. I truly love that over the three years that I have done AF you can see some small improvement.

With art fight being over, I will likely be taking a little bit of a break for about a week or so. Some stuff might be posted to BlueSky, but otherwise I'll try my best to chill for a bit. (I can also be a workaholic so we will see) I still have some art wiggles but don't have the time to make much.

Some of these I'm really really proud of, and others (while I am happy with them) I know where to improve. I would have loved to spend a little more time doing art for art fight but life kind of happened and having a job made it weird. There were also a couple of days where I doubted making art but I pushed through.

I received some absolutely WONDERFUL drawings this year!! (Who am I kidding, they're wonderful EVERY year) Thank you so much for everyone who gave me a little bit of something! There are some wonderful artists on AF that make some absolutely amazing things. With this post being as long as it is already I'll hold off (for now) on sharing. Just everyone is so good and cool!

Also unlike the last two years I participated in AF, I came away with a couple... negative thoughts about it and some of the things that happened. I was more present on other areas of the internet with art fight postings and well... I don't wanna bog down this post with it. Art fight is for fun.

If you didn't notice, I tried some new media as well! A short animation and 3 painted acrylic panels. I really enjoyed making the panels (and sent one of them off to the owner as well!) but they also were more time consuming! With acrylic being the medium it is, I couldn't be as detailed as I would have liked but they all came out quite nice! I don't think I'll do more animating anytime soon as I don't really have the patience to do it in CSP, but it's still neat to do.

It was also so crazy to see how close the scores have been! I'm typing this all up the 29th of July before the event is being over so no idea who is on top. The scores were almost always 50/50 or just 50.01/49.99. CRAZY!!! Congrats to whichever team won!!!

I was a little surprised to do this for the third year in a row as well! No idea if I'll be able to participate next year.

Thank you by the way for looking through my long posts! I have never made as much art (and published it in some way) as I have in these last two years. So many things are going on in the world but I am making art regardless. Art has been my escape but also my protest.

Yet another year of ArtFight, this is my sixth time participating and I'm so excited. I'm on Crystal this year, but I don't mind friendly fire and will probably revenge even if you're also on Crystal. Finally using this blog, here's a reference of my interpretation of Razewing Ratha! I replayed MHS2 recently and I've been absolutely obsessed with the game ever since.

As stated, this is my version of Ratha! Like many others, I didn't like how normal his wings were, so I doubled down on making them unique here. I've always loved the idea of him retaining some feathers as well as the blue and black colors. The pattern is also a lot more complicated in order to really resemble what I always thought it was, firebreath. He has heterochromia because why not and some feathers stick out from his scales since he's really quite young and hasn't shed them all yet.

Also included a headshot of him with a couple decorate headcanons; I like to think he wears flowers a lot that connect him to Sevira (my MHS2 Rider character). I'm not incredibly proficient with drawing MH monsters, especially Raths since I'm so used to drawing WoF dragons, but I'm going to be experimenting with style a lot with this guy.
