Within our module and reading, we’ve had an opportunity to learn a lot about Black Twitter. When immersing yourself within the world of Black Twitter, there are certain accounts that will provide you with the best information and in-the-know material. Across multiple platforms, we discuss the top 5 accounts to follow on Black Twitter.
Firstly, Jamilah Lemieux. Alongside #BlackLivesMatter, she discusses pop culture and women’s issues. Then, you need to follow Deray Mckesson as he discusses particularly important issues like police brutality and civil rights. Additionally, he discusses politics and pop culture. After Jamilah and Deray, your 3rd follow should be Feminista Jones. Similar to Deray, she also discusses police brutality (with a different perspective), race relations, pop culture and international news. To follow, Johnetta Elize. She speaks upon all previously mentioned fields as well as entertainment. Her account is well-rounded and appeals to everyone! Lastly, your 5th follow should be Michael Arceneaux - touching upon pop culture, politics and reality TV.
