Gonna keep it short, but I am pretty happy with this one to, althought I cant take all the credit because I have recently made a VERY talented friend who has been giving me a lot of advice to help improve my work. I am very grateful to them <3

Its not perfect and I have stuff to work on still but this will be the first time I actualy finished a D&D charicter in time to use in the campaign that i'm playing them in!

Yaaay I did another thing!

Probably gonna keep these shorter from now on, but I am pretty happy with this one. Another D&D charicter idea (as always XD) that I have been thinking about; a cleric named Akairy.

This is one of the first times while drawing that I didn’t feel like I was starting from scratch and had actualy learned some of the things I was trying to, which is nice. Still there are hundreds of tools in the program I use that I think would help if I knew how to use them properly, so Il focus on that next time, as well as looking at shadows some more.

As usual if you have any feedback or tips, I’d love to hear them.

And hopefully there will be more art to follow :D

It has passed, but something continues.” More or less interested in the dancing jagged rock. Wanted to imply that it is the Wheel’s carcass and that the temple is on the highest point. 

Also, be forgiving in lack of accuracy of some of these. I do mull over the descriptions and do my research. But at the end of the day, I treat these as prompts to practice my environments and I give myself deadlines for these. So that involves making decisions and shooting from the hip a lot of times.

Been playing spiritfarer a ton and loving it!!

So I’mmmmm Back!, at long last. Took a bit of an extended brake there because time I would have spent drawing I was doing other things that required my creative energies. But I am glad I kept it up

This Is Will-o my Arcane trickster rogue, a High elf who escaped a overbearingly protective family and has discovered she enjoys living it up with adventure and the most lavish lifestyle available. This marks the first time I have completed art of one of my characters while still actually playing them, so I get to use it as a custom token in the game. Part of the reason I just did the face and upper torso, because I wanted to use it in that way.

I am, not that satisfied with how it turned out however, although I think it came together a lot better in the end. My theory is that I may have messed up the proportions slightly at the beginning so it just seemed... not quite right through the entire process of drawing and I had no idea how to make it look right and this is the end result of that. I am left being not sure how to feel, because something still looks off to me but overall the other details distract and make it look better to my eye. So good enough to use it for what I wanted but I got a long way to go before I have an accurate natural sense of how to proportion and position things right. I might try play around with a few things and see what I can do about that later.

Stuff I am happy with are some of the details, I think the gems and the collar worked out pretty well as well as finding a nice way to make the iris colours look good without much effort. I think I might be more naturally able to draw objects better than people, like with Lunara’s axe from way back when. I ain’t gonna give up on drawing people tho.

I did actually manage to keep my promise to myself and do a simpler drawing, which is nice, but I think I still need to go simpler, try do something in just one session and repeat that until I get the basics down, so perhaps I will stray away from D&D drawings for a bit and do some more generic face and expression stuff. We will see though I am not totally sure yet, I do want to keep getting better though, so thats the goal.

So yeah got another one done Wooooo! and any advice people have for me if they see this would be very appreciated and hopefully Ill keep improving when I can. More to follow :)

More art! More art! MORE ART!

Yaaaay so here is another, This is Piya. Probably one of the first characters I made for D&D and has been waiting in the wings until I got the chance to play her, as such she is a rather common build of wood elven ranger, but still very enjoyable to play due to her being an extremely shy usually, but also a closeted adrenaline junkie. 

So stuff I like here, I like how the background and lighting effects came out, although I might still play around with them a bit to fine tune them, I think the face is better than last time, but only because its a bit simpler what with the eyes being shut and all that. I would like to add a little more detail, but every attempt I made at that never really looked right and I am happy with how she looks with the simple format. I’m also quite happy with the braid and the pose specifically because to my eye I have had some success in including gravity and a illusion of weight to it, if not a very sophisticated one.

Stuff to work on would be first and foremost, how long it takes me to do aaaanything, I know this is going to get better with practice and once I learn Clip studio and its various tools a bit more thoroughly aaaaand when I finally get around to drawing something simple, which spoilers, won’t be my next project either, although more on that in a bit. So far, in drawing my D&D characters I have not managed to finish one of them while still playing them, despite starting to draw them while playing, both campaigns ended before I was finished.

Im not 100% a fan of the leaves or trees in the background, I’ll have to find a way to do mass complicated things like that more accurately, I think that one is mostly going to come down to using the tools available better as I still don’t know what half of them do. And the bow and arrows and to some extent the boots were a bit rushed, but that should be less of a problem when I learn to do things faster and get less of a feeling of just wanting to be done in the end.

Also I realized during this one that I have yet to draw the same face twice from different angles, and I suspect that it might be quite difficult for me to keep it consistent, but that’s a problem to solve when I switch to simpler practice drawings.

Next I will be working on a scene from the final session of the campaign that Piya was in, I’m toying with the idea of doing something that is less reliant on black border lines, but I’m going to try be flexible about it. It is once again... not the simple practice that I think I need to improve faster, but like, it was a cool moment to me, and I started learning to draw so I could draw stuff like that, so... fuck it, lets do it! XD

More definitely to follow.
