Lumione Fic Recs (version 2)

About 3 years ago, a few people asked for Lucius/Hermione fanfiction recommendations. I wrote up a long list, with links, and went on my merry way, but since then, some great new stories have been written and deserve to be shared as well. So here is my all new and improved Lumione Fic Recs list! Assume everything on this list is rated E/M, because that’s almost all that I read.

First, because it’s my list, I’m going to include my own Lumione stories:

With stakes this high, a glass of spiked eggnog can change everything. Written for Slytherin Cabal’s “Twist-mas Fest” [Warning: dark story, contains non-con]

50 Shades of Granger by Elle_Morgan_Black. A collection of erotic drabbles and short stories starring hedonistic bookworm Hermione Granger. Tags to be added as needed. Will mostly feature the Malfoy men, but others may join in the fun.

And while not really a Lumione, I feel compelled to include this one because it’s Lucius-centric and utterly ridiculous.

Ain’t No Rest for the Wicked By: Elle Morgan-Black The trials and tribulations of Lucius Malfoy. His son is whiny and indiscreet. His wife is clueless as to how genuinely insane her sister is. The politicians he keeps in his pocket are inept. The Dark Lord is back and has clearly gone off the deep end, and oh yeah, there’s this little matter of one scar-faced brat who keeps messing up his evil plans.

Now, onto the rest of the list:

1. First, go to LaurieLove’s fanfic page and read all of her Lumione stories. No, seriously. All of them. Even the HP/Peter Pan crossover with Captain Hook (Hook and Lucius are both played by Jason Isaacs in the films). I’m not as crazy about her Severus/Hermione stories, but her Lumione are amazing. She has a few bit of Dramione too. Of her stories, my favorite is probably Discovering Beauty, and the accompanying one-shots.

Discovering Beauty By: Laurielove -M- Four years after the war, a chance encounter with a wizard Hermione hoped never to see again leads her to question her life and discover things about herself she had kept deeply buried. HG/LM. A tale of discovery. Older readers only, please.

Her story Sense of Taste was the first fanfiction story to break my heart and make me literally cry.

The Sense of Taste By: Laurielove -M- NOW COMPLETE. Hermione is inwardly struggling to be the perfect wife and mother. Understanding comes from a shocking source. And a certain former Death Eater is equally horrified by his reaction to seeing the muggle-born again. M readers only. LM/HG

She has dozens of great stories to read, most of them Lumione! She’s also on tumblr at @laurielover1912.

Laurie has some stories still floating around under her other penname Illuminaire, but I think some of those may have been lost when Granger Enchanted was taken down.

2. When you’re finished reading Laurie’s work, go check out LanaDrama.

She has a lot of Lumione WIPs, some shorter complete stories, and they’re all great. Some of the stories I’ve enjoyed:

Valentine Surprise By: LanaDrama For Hermione, Valentine’s Day was supposed to be another boring, lonely day … until she started to receive gifts from a mysterious stranger. Who can it be? More importantly, what does he want from her in return? Adult readers only, please.

This was has a one-shot sequel, Absolute Altitude, and that one is followed by the one-shot, Patience Miss Granger, which is followed by the longer WIP, Beauty in the Ruins.

Read all of Lana’s stuff.

3. When you’re done with that, head over to AO3, and read For Pure Blood by MalfoyCouture.

This story blew me away. I started reading it thinking that it would be just another “poor naive Hermione, seduced by the big bad Death Eater story,” and it’s not. At all. Actually, whatever you think about it at the beginning will be wrong because this story has more twists and turns than you would ever expect.

For Pure Blood by malfoycouture Hermione strikes a deal with Lucius Malfoy, but both get more than they bargained for. Hermione learns that her intentions are not as noble as she initially thought. Lucius learns that Hermione is not to be underestimated; beneath her Head Girl facade is a witch as ruthless as he is. What follows are hard lessons for both regarding trust, power, selfishness, redemption, and sacrifice.

“You do like that, don’t you?” Lucius said, his voice low, seductive. “It’s almost as if you want to enjoy this. But that would be unthinkable, wouldn’t it?”

Love Thy Enemy is one of my favorites. It’s got humor, sadness, love, and a happy ending, but there are plenty of other good ones from this author.

Love Thy Enemy -:- By : Snapes_Goddess Lucius and Hermione’s heated public exchanges and near-duels land them in front of the MOM, again. The Minister decides to take matters into his own hands and issue a sentence to keep them from harming each other in the future.

She’s also loaded a lot of her work on AO3, for those who hate the formatting on AFF. Be sure to read The Prude, which flips the ‘Sex God Lucius’ trope on its head.

The Prude by Snapes_Godess. The war is over and things are changing. As wizarding numbers begin to dwindle and the powers that be are pressed to insure population growth AND an end to blood politics. The result, marriage laws. Witches and wizards are matched based on characteristics that will assure a future of mixed blood witches and wizards who are exceptional in every way. Hermione finds herself matched with Lucius Malfoy. The question is, can she get past the wall of propriety that shields the prudish and proper wizard?

Now, let’s talk about some of the newer Lumione writers who’ve graced our fandom with their talent in the last few years:

SulisWrites is a newer Lumione writer, and her story The Unforgivables is still a WIP, but is definitely a must-read.

The Unforgivables by suliswrites. Set during Deathly Hallows. After Ron leaves, Harry & Hermione barely survive a Death Eater attack and are forced to take Lucius as their prisoner. Once back at the tent, Hermione is left alone to watch him. Mind games and power play ensue. An astonishingly powerful elemental magic is growing within Hermione that she has no idea how to control. His every infuriating action seems to provoke it. An offer is made. Can they use each other towards survival?

Crash, Pull by suliswrites. “Hermione Granger was simply taking a walk on what she thought was a lonely isolated beach. Nothing like a sea breeze and the sound of waves crashing against the rocks and sand to refresh the mind and soul. But her respite comes screeching to a halt when she happens upon an equally isolated, contemplative Lucius Malfoy staring off into the sea. He hasn’t seen her yet… she can choose to slip away. FragileReality is another amazing Lumione writer whose works range from Voldemort wins dystopian fics to a hilarious take on a Lucius who will do ANYTHING to win Hermione over.

Highlights of hers include:

Masterchef By: Fragilereality Hermione’s presence in his kitchen forces Lucius to re-think his prejudices. Just a little one shot I dreamed up whilst cooking dinner - then I came up with a few more courses! Post Hogwarts, disregards epilogue. Includes graphic sex, cross dressing and many scenarios I can’t believe I actually came up with!

Ninety days of darkness By: Fragilereality Voldemort was triumphant and Hermione Granger has been a prisoner in Malfoy Manor for three months. At Voldemort’s behest she is engaged to a reluctant Lucius Malfoy. Hermione is not easily subjugated and ninety days in the dark can change a person beyond all recognition. AU. Rated M for sexual content and violence, as dark as I’m every likely to get - still not that dark!

Leverage: A Christmas Tale By: Fragilereality “Come now, did you really think I was going to pay over a million Galleons just for one kiss? I think you overvalue yourself, Miss Granger. They may refer to you as the Princess of Gryffindor, but you must know you are not an actual princess.” An accurate depiction of what would most definitely happen should Lucius and Hermione be trapped under a sprig of enchanted mistletoe.

Other newer Lumione stories (in alphabetical order) I’ve enjoyed that weren’t on the old list:

Ancien Magyks by inkheart9459. Hermione’s out for a walk in the woods on her vacation in the French countryside. It should be a nice easy day, where she can finish her hike, get dinner, and go to bed early and get a good night’s rest. Should be. She gets lost in the woods, which since she can apparate isn’t truly a big deal. The real hitch is who she finds in a clearing in the middle of the woods and the magic wave that washed over her just before she emerged from the treeline. She might not make dinner after all. [Hermione, Lucius, Narcissa]

Bloodline By: TassanaBurrfoot Being down on the totem pole is not a place Lucius will ever be, not for long. Under the guise of looking for his long-lost sister, he asks Hermione Granger, heroine of the Second Wizarding War, for help. Will he be able to win her heart? Will he be able to keep his own heart in tact? *Sequel to April Showers [April Showers is a one-shot, available HERE]

Cursed by TriDogMom. Hermione is dying from a curse on the blade Bellatrix used when torturing her at Malfoy Manor. Her only hope of surviving is to become pregnant with a Death Eaters’ baby. [Draco/Hermione/Lucius]

Disdain Me Still by SyrenGrey. Potions Mistress Hermione Granger is sceptical that her new colleague and DADA professor, Lucius Malfoy, is as reformed as he claims. He’s determined to change her mind, one way or another.

Epistolary Charms by bea_meupscotty. Hermione runs into Lucius Malfoy after the war, and finds herself carrying on a rather unexpected correspondence with the former Death Eater as she tries to make sense of the slow unraveling of the domestic peace she’d found herself and her friends in after the war.

Filthy Little Come Slut by TriDogMom. The one where Hermione is sleeping with both Malfoy’s and things get filthy. Come kink.

Her Dark Lord By: smithandbarrowman and LaBelladonneX. Everything has fallen apart for Hermione Granger; smothered by Weasleys and unsatisfied with her love life, she renounces her life and walks away from all she once held dear. A surprise encounter opens her eyes to a life she’d only dreamed of, and the love of a man she’d always wanted.

Ideal Match, Required by Minervas_Revenge. Lonely, Professor Hermione Granger finds solace in the Room of Requirement. Is what happens there, real? Can she trust the wizard beyond the Room?

Melting Beneath You by smithandbarrowman. Winter brought with it a secret. The coldness in his heart thawed, the warmth in her soul was why.

Our Legacy by strawberry_pills. Set nearly ten years after the war. Hermione had been promised the position of Senior Undersecretary by Kingsley Shacklebolt in return for her help in his reelection as Minister for Magic. But when she was passed over for someone else, she initiates an elaborate plan of manipulation and betrayal to attain revenge, aided by her equally ambitious, power-hungry husband.

Pureblood Traditions by PotionChemist and smithandbarrowman. Triads are rare but not uncommon in the pureblood world. But when Hermione Granger decides she wants not one, but both Malfoy men, will they grant her wish? [Draco/Hermione/Lucius]

Shadows Of The Past -:- By : Snapes_Goddess From the shadows of an unsavory past comes redemption for a man who never believed that a second chance was possible. A story of friendship, forgiveness and the redeeming power of love.

Sheep’s Clothing By: Annamonk This is a post war AU. Things are not tied up in a pretty bow. Everyone is a mess. @annamonk

Tangled Up In You By: Gianna Reede Hermione is stuck in her boring monotonous life. One horribly boring day makes her realize she needs a little fun in her life. And you’ll never believe who gives it to her.
