I have a collection of tea because I can't help but buy delicious sounding tea. But it's not all particularly delicious, so some of it is neglected. But neglected things like food or drink will just expire, go stale or otherwise no longer be good eventually. It just takes up space and wastes my money.

So I'm trying to use all my tea up! Today I finished a peach oolong green tea. It smelled delicious, and tasted nice, but the flavour is a bit plain. I don't regret buying it, but I probably wouldn't buy it again.

I also try not to open too many loose leaf teas at the same time, so by finishing the peach tea, I get to open some apple black tea! I hope it's good.

Project pan is a concept started by the makeup community if I'm not wrong, and I've been applying that concept to other consumables in my life. Mostly perfume and tea. It's so satisfying to finish things and declutter.

Treating my Tumblr like a journal for a min:

I've always been a moderately picky eater, but my taste opened up more when i reached adulthood.

I lived for several years with my new adult tastes, but was still really afraid to try new things.

About two years ago I made a conscious effort to try more food/drink.

It's actually astounding how far I've come, but I feel I've got so much progress to make.

This last week:

I ate a McDonald's burger without taking out the pickles. I didn't even notice them.

I tried red wine again because it was called "goth juice" on the menu, and it was tasty!

I drank an earl grey tea, after disliking it for several years. And I didn't mind it at all!

Growing up, I had tried a lot of things in young childhood, but then became picky as I got older. I'm now learning to ignore the danger signals my brain sends out around new foods. It's really hard to get past!

Some foods I don't like straight away, but grow to get used to. Like cucumber! I couldn't eat it alone, and gradually got used to it in salads and sandwiches. Now I can eat it on its own if I wanted.

I still don't like carrots, but I can eat them and it won't ruin a meal.

I'm really proud of the progress I've made. It's a little embarrassing because I still have so far to go. But it's getting easier every week. Life is good. Food is good.
