Now that the children have been cast for the hp remake I want to preface again that I do not want to see anyone being disrespectful or hateful to children. They have nothing to do with jkr's transphobia, homophobia etc and are more than likely either big fans of the books OR set to work by their parents.

By all means, fuck the adults involved in the production but leave the children out of the conversation.

edit: don't interact if you disagree, I simply don't care enough to argue with bigots. Also I thought this was clear, no I don't wish any harm on adults... doesn't mean that I don't hate the fact they're working on something that will immensely fund a transphobe who will more than likely use some of that money to fund anti trans organisations.

one of my favourite scenes in heartstopper is in s3 when elle has her interview. she's invited to talk about her art, and instead she's bombarded with trans questions. she gets a whole bunch of bathroom questions when she just wanted to share her art. throughout the season we see her looking at articles of anti-trans laws etc, and at her interview? she Walks Out.

that scene? SOBBED. i think there's a theme in trans media of the trans character being this massive activist who will always have discussions, always defend their right to exist, always have debates with bigots that lead to some revolutionary change in the storyline.

but she just walked out.

and i love that representation. i love that we have media of a trans character leaving the room when it's uncomfortable, and acknowledging that there's more to herself than being trans. or even, that her being trans is the least interesting thing about herself.

i love that we were told it's okay to leave discussions that are built around us, not for us. that's really important me thinks.

I am traveling and 9 hours in a train is a lot of time to do silly sketches ( by the way super hard cause it moves like a lot ) I also tried to do regulus but got dizzy mid way.

I also read a fic of William turner X Jack sparrow that was too hot for reading it in public, took a nap, watched two house episodes and crocheted a few rows from my tapestry.

Super cool that I saw 🐄 and 🐑 also super epic running horses.

and also free my boys from “the picture of dorian gray” and “the song of achilles” aligation, they read it they loved it but like when they were eleven years old. oscar wilde has other works and regulus laughed when he read that his sisters died because they burned alive with their dresses imagining his cousins and remus love iliad with all his heart

You don’t get to take the easy way out!

You don’t get to pretend she has nothing to do with this space whilst the majority of people in it continue to finically support her!

We can’t get rid of her name whilst people are commenting atyd quotes on the official hp accounts!

You don’t get to pretend that every fic you write or read doesn’t contribute, in a vague round about way, to the ongoing popularity of the Hp brand.

You have to sit in the discomfort and remember and pay attention, otherwise we’ll just continue to see people thinking they’d “separate art from artist” because of their damn hcs and watching the new show “in a marauders way”.

Pretending you’ve distanced the author from fanfic doesn’t suddenly mean you have distanced her. You just want to stop having to care.

i really love a sirius black who just,,, accepts it. LOVEEEE me a good internalised homophobia and shame trope but i also love when he just. gets it. maybe he doesn't realise that he's looking at remus any differently at first and maybe he doesn't quite understand why everything is a bit brighter when he's around remus, but as soon as james makes a joke about it for the first time, or as soon as remus stands awkwardly in front of him and says the words for the first time? he's just like,,, oh. yeah. no you're so right, i love men.

love the idea of a person who spent their entire childhood coming to terms with the fact they're different, and started to find normalcy in what his family framed as odd.

Sirius who wants to know all the drama about everyone at Hogwarts paired with Remus who hears it all but can’t describe ppl for the life of him:

Every time Remus tells Sirius about some wack shit he overheard/saw happen Sirius NEEDS to know who was there, the main ppl involved, etc. and Remus is like: ¯\_(o-o)_/¯

Sirius questions him all the time going, "were they blonde? Brunette? Are they taller or shorter than me? Tattoos? What house? SOMETHING Moony!”

And Remus would go, “I don’t stare at these ppl… uhh idk maybe same height?… blonde?? Hufflepuff???”

All for Remus to point them out in the hallway (being utterly wrong in his description, but at least Remus got the details of the story) but Sirius is ecstatic bc he’s finally able to tell other people about the drama his boyfriend acquired for him
