Ache of Winter's Onset, named for the despair her mother felt at her birth, was once a man drowning in alcohol and warm bodies, an unloved child turned a bitter adult. Then, she was nothing but her guilt. Now, she's trying- slowly, to get better. With the blessing of a dragon, the forgiveness of her once-lover and a fierce protectiveness for her adopted son she never thought she could give to a child, she's letting herself be who she is. Not the burden on her mother, not her father's inconvenience, or her lover's killer, but something new. Something a little more confident.
And that something is a 48 year old foul-mouthed asshole woman finally beginning to feel comfortable in her own skin and new scales. who'd have thought!
Submitter adds that though there isn't art of it, Ache is also able to transform into a giant silver dragon.
