decided to whip up a VERY far fetched mulberry design. will probably make a updated one when the book acually come out

I assumed he was a night/sky hybrid because 1) it’s in the title of the book 2) mulberries irl come in two colors; red and black. everything else is pure random speculation lol. I gave him a silver teardrop because in my theory he has a prophecy involving sora and umber and that’s what he’s trying to tell/remind beryl in the excerpt, and also why he’s presumably leading them to the secret hybrid island. we already know from DORKstalker nightwing hybrids can still be empowered if hatched under the moons.

tar redesign ish (hey it’s the GUY IN THE PROFILE PICTURE)

backstory in a nutshell it’s an amalgam created to destroy and consume human souls so sort of same concept mettaton but more rabid starving dog. got a little hangry and ate a bunch of monster souls because turns out when you’re good at killing humans you’re also really good at killing monsters too. OOPS!! completely destroyed the underground in its universe and eventually escaped into the greater multiverse. DOUBLE OOPS!!

the brighter design on the bottom is sort of like its redemption arc and it joins the star sanses hooray

(I STILL DONT LIKE ITS NAME. also during its redemption it CHANGES its name too so now i need to make up TWO NAMES. NAMING IS HARD :( )

also finished archivist alphys’ design. partially responsible for Tar’s creation and pretty guilty about that whole disaster. fell into the core (instead of gaster) trying to escape tar’s little murder spree and has been looking for a weapon across the multiverse and trying to create anything to destroy it ever since

she also misses her wife :(
