This is Me
I’m 23, queer, comic enthusiast, role player and all around asshole. I’ve been an RPer since Man of Steel came out, like the night of. At like 2am after the premiere I made an ask blog, then a few days later I made this one. I had never done this before and it took off. Since then I’ve had forays into the Pacific Rim fandom as a Kaidonovsky, Max from Mad Max, the bad guy from the first Guardians of the Galaxy movie, Chandra and Niv Mizzet from Magic the Gathering. I got around. But I always came back to Dru.

Speaking of…
I had never given the character of Dru-Zod much thought before I saw Man of Steel and fell in love with Micheal Shannon’s performance. I wasn’t even a big Superman fan at the time, this movie changed that. I found Zod to be a dynamic character and for whatever reason he resonated with me. I wanted to be him, I had to write him. And since 2013 a few people will say I did a damn good job.
Dru was and is interesting to write for, I base him heavily off of what Man of Steel gave us, with some comic history thrown in to fill in gaps, any other gaps have been of my own word building coupled with my best friend, who you may know writes Faora. He’s stubborn, intelligent, anger prone, the list of negative qualities continues, but there’s something in him, and in this world represented by Snyder in the film, that speaks of so much more going on internally with Kryptonians. I’ve done my best for years to figure out what it is. I have more to build with Dru, and to find out.

//I didn't know that. I did have a copy of the comic where Marvel and D.C. were in the same universe and Bruce was an advent of SHIELD.

Fresh Start
//I will be retconning this whole blog. Aside from my history with @thetigressofzod, just because of how closely tied our own headcanons and backstories are. This has a great deal to do with my absence and because I feel it’s the best way to restart. That being said every interaction is new, no preexisting relationships with any muses, except I guess Kals. I’m also going to try and keep Dru, himself more without some of the more silly breaks I took before. I’ve wanted darker storylines with him and I want to work toward that. So hello yes I am here.

Military and Mentality Headcanon
//With Krypton being a society in which the genetic material of families is passed down and perfected, the best traits and genes being kept and molded, its very possible same families have indirectly cause problems for their genetic line.
The Houses prominent in the Military Guild prided themselves on soldiers that go above and beyond. Keeping genes that make them strong, quick and deadly in a variety of ways. Coupled with rigorous training that begins from an early age many children of these houses do not learn key factors in emotional and mental development. It isn’t to say they aren’t smart, or unfeeling but emphasis is put elsewhere with little regard to other needs.
Which means that the possibility for mental illness may have a high rate among the Guild. Leading to a great number suffering without the rest of society knowing, or the families covering it up. It may also go relatively unnoticed given the soldiers day to day lives or temperaments. Making for a largely unstable pool of adults in high positions, each suffering a defect.

//I'll be working off some old things while I rewrite some aspects.
Zod's Ceremonial Armor Headcanon
Upon creating the ‘Sword of Rao’ group that would one day lead a coup against Krypton’s leaders, Zod gave himself the title 'Dragon of Rao’ and had his armor reworked so his crest exemplified this, hence the wing pattern on his chest plate. Dru-Zod believes himself to be an extension of the Sun God and a warrior for Krypton in his name.
Other Headcanons
Headcanons
Black Zero is the base of operations for Zod and his men, located on the moon, it is currently being repaired and outfitted.
His only goal is to rebuild Krypton, if he feels like he can get something out of anyone that will aid him, the chance will be taken.
Zod is very passionate and defensive of his home, and to extent her remaining people. He may want Kal-El dead, for he only needs his body but will not try to kill any of the other Kryptonians unless provoked.
Faora Hu-Ul, Jax-Ur and Nam-Ek are the only remaining members of his group.
Zod’s main drive is passion and duty. So when he feels something its an overwhelming force. However most of his emotions, if they are negative lead back to rage and he will act on it, realizing only later that it may have been rash.
He grew up learning how to kill a man every way possible. When diplomacy failed violence was the answer, this worked in tandem with an anger problem who showed itself in different situations. Zod had once believed things could be talked out, but after the destruction and betrayal that happened on Krypton he’s decided that total ruination is the only possible course.
Friends were few and far between, he didn’t make many because they could die anyday. However when he met Jor-El they bonded and became very close. Upon meeting Faora Hu-Ul another sort of friendship was struck, the two becoming a good pair on the field and off.
Upon creating the ‘Sword of Rao’ group that would one day lead a coup against Krypton’s leaders, Zod gave himself the title ‘Dragon of Rao’ and had his armor reworked so his crest exemplified this, hence the wing pattern on his chest plate. Dru-Zod believes himself to be an extension of the Sun God and a warrior for Krypton in his name.
Zod is played as per his movie counterpart in Man of Steel. Some comic elements will be thrown in for characterization.
General Dru-Zod was head of the Warrior Guild on Krypton, having control of all military forces as per his families tradition and role. Zod planned a coup d'etat on the Law Council, which ultimately failed. He and his resurgences, the rebel group 'Sword of Rao’ were sent to the Phantom Zone on the prison ship Black Zero.
The end of Man of Steel has been altered for this timeline, the Black Zero wasn’t destroyed as the Phantom Drive plan backfired. It suffered extensive damage instead, seeing that he could not get the better of Kal-El at present Zod ordered the ship and what was left of his crew to set up on the moon.
Characterization
Dru-Zod is a lifelong man of military, he’s well spoken, intelligent and charismatic. He prides himself on his appearance, his words and most importantly his strength. Zod is based in pride, and also in anger. If pushed, and its very easy to push him, he becomes nothing but an immovable force of rage and brutality. Willing to do anything and everything possible to achieve his ends. He is a very firm believer in “The ends justify the means”.
General Zod has placed his trust in very few, Faora Hu-Ul, his second is the only one to hold this right as of now, she’s been in his service for a long time, decades of working together have strengthened these ties. However he is willing to sacrifice her for the greater good.
Jor-El was once a great friend and confidant. Jor didn’t agree with the path Zod wanted to take, but even friendships would not stop him, he does regret the circumstances of Jor’s death but as stated he would make the same choice given the chance.
More added as I get to develop him more.
Verses
Main//Zod is stuck between Earth and the Moon, trying to rebuild the ship and stay out of Kal’s way. For now he is making connections and learning what he can. Since this world is new, the verse will be fluid to a point.
Pre-MoS//Zod during any event before the movie, whether it be after the destruction of Krypton or before.
Associated Sciences// Zod is working toward the same goals but with added help. (Private)
Anons received, unless legitimately serious do not effect the main story line or anyother. Same for instances that aren’t true threads.
AUs
Space Pirate
Dru Zod is captain of the Black Zero, a notorious sleek cargo turned pirate ship. He and his crew the 'Swords of Rao’, travel the galaxy attacking anyone foolish enough to cross his path. (Closed)
Stockholm AU
(Mostly for Ally ) Zod has taken […] hostage for any number of reasons. Victim develops sympathy for the General and doesn’t seek saving or keeps going back.
