I'm glad to know that people who enjoyed this game have the same feelings as I do, or at least understand where I'm coming from. I know it's not the same genre as BTD—it's much more action-based.

Mason’s path works great. There’s a lot going on and plenty to keep track of, kind of like FNAF, but less stressful.

You reviewed Celia's path better than I ever could. I don’t have many memories of her route to give a fair review—other than the fact that she left no impact on me. Though, I do recall the murder-suicide scene. That was a total big-lipped alligator moment.

I do have a clearer memory of Derek's route, though—it was super busy. The main reason I don’t like Derek is that I barely see him, and I can't take him seriously. I feel like the wolf-masked man kills me more than Derek does. It’s like the whole group is competing for the player's attention. Like my gosh...

The captive’s bonding moments felt like filler, unfortunately. Maybe they could have been interesting, but they just weren’t written in an engaging way. If they had been together for an entire route—from the start to at least one ending—it might have made a difference.

Derek’s route honestly could have been a standalone game. It needed more time in the oven. And Demon Stade? He was just… kinda there. He did even less than Lawrence. That’s all I’m gonna say.

Honestly, the best parts of TPOF were seeing the BTD characters return. It was nice to see Lawrence in a better place and to find out what Ren has been up to since BTD2.

Speaking of Ren/Fox, he’s actually why I’m worried about YKMET. There were a few lines in TPOF where Ren states that he’s always been this monster, and that Strade didn’t make him that way. Either this was a cool character moment—where he's lying to himself—or Gatobob is trying to rewrite his character. I honestly can’t tell.

As for his redesign in YKMET, it’s not just that he looks older (which was needed—that's not the problem). It’s that he looks so much more confident, like he’s not the shy fox boy from the start. He looks like he’s got his life together, which makes it feel like his story is already changing into something else. And… I don’t know how to feel about that.

It is cool that Strade is getting more character development, though. For the longest time, I saw him as a static character who worked as a duo with Ren.

I feel like I'm in the minority on why I love BTD2.(and just BTD2)

It's not the NSFW, the gore, sex, etc. I think it's an interesting character study.

I've never played a game about a abuse victim following in the foot steps of their abuser but wanting to do things in a more 'healthier' way; And depending on the player choices this character changes differently. From being your abuser, his abuser, etc. I think that's an amazing idea for a visual novel and I think Gatobob did an amazing job on it.

Lawrence's path is weaker compared to Ren. But I really like the small hits to his dialogue to how he became this way. He's a man who wants companionship but due to his past attempts he keeps sabotaging himself.

For a person who hates humans, he's probably more human then most of Gatobob's cast. Lawrence's even better if you had found Gatobob's old asks. From being somewhat of a Fantasy nerd and finding bugs pretty cool. (Gatobob's did art of him with a centipede recently)

So I was really disappointed on TPOF and I'm a little worried about her reboot of BTD. I do plan on playing it once it comes out, but I don't know...TPOF didn't have alot of that charm.
