So why update the translation? :O

Apologies for the late response but I'm happy you asked! Dorohedoro Reheated was formed because there was a desire to create the best translation for fans and newcomers alike! The fan-translations that are out online have older, low quality scans that don't do Hayashida's artwork justice at all. They're also prone to other errors in grammar and typesetting, byproducts of their age of course. [Nonetheless they're appreciated for introducing people to the series!]

When it comes to the official translation though, they have a lot of errors that pile together. The biggest problem is that words will be translated but the character's meaning and "spirit" will be lost, possibly because the translators will swap around and are sometimes given the script without also receiving the artwork. A phrase from one chapter will be given totally different wording in the next, doesn't help that Dorohedoro is a mystery seinen with intended vagueness.

There's also miscellaneous errors like spelling, grammar, editing and getting the genders of characters totally wrong! In addition, from volume 4 onwards, they print all the colored pages in monochrome which dampens Hayashida's beautiful artwork, a total shame. Soon we'll compile and share all the errors we could find from the previous translations.
