oh yeah this is a reminder that i do write a different narrative for my rosinante’s main canon lore where he’s doflamingo’s younger fraternal twin ! what can i say, i do think it was a missed opportunity for a good ol’ twin trope, and considering the age difference between doffy and rosi is really minimal ( 2 - 3 years i believe ), so what i decided to do is that i’m just gonna shift the age to have them being fraternal twins rather than identical, so that their physical differences are also taken into account ! 

no canon event will be altered as everything still functions perfectly with this little change. ♥

by now you know how i am with verses and how i tend to simply try to adapt canon to various scenarios, so to me the story of the twins wouldn’t be that different: michikatsu still was heavily abused by their father because of how he’d see yoriichi as superior and always demean and beat michikatsu for ‘not doing enough’ which built his own conflictual sentiments towards his brother and often found himself not really liking their situation just like he doesn’t like the spite he feels because he should love and care for his brother instead of seething in hidden anger because of how his father treated him. even after their mother died and pretty much left a letter where she’d only praise yoriichi as a good and dutiful son despite the older twin’s many efforts to please and satisfy the expectations of the family, michikatsu definitely didn’t like the fact that at some point ( most likely late teenage years, considering the big leap it is ) yoriichi ran the fuck away from home and left poor michikatsu to deal with his father and his own growing sense of abandonment on his own without a single thing to use as a crutch to support himself. and in all of this, the only good thing he got was his own marriage with his wife and the two children he got ( which in this verse are muichiro and yuichiro ) because it also gave him the chance to move away from the family house and seek some happiness.

it definitely caused the relationship between himself and yoriichi very strained in his part, while it’s clear that yoriichi still adores him, but the abandonment was really something michikatsu cannot forget no matter how much he loves the twin brother deep inside, let alone forgive. to him, being abandoned by someone who was genetically his other half who could understand him like no one else in the world was like being killed. it’s something that keeps hurting and hurting in his heart, making it rot in twisted memories and guilt and rage and regret all mixing together in a confusing pot michikatsu himself doesn’t even know where to put his hands on to begin with. it’s something that hurt him so much that left him unable to trust yoriichi, to be able to be in the brother’s presence without feeling irritation and panic just flow up after five minutes. what makes him hope so much for his own children not to end up like himself and yoriichi.

that’s probably the real reason he doesn’t accept yoriichi’s friend requests on facebook -the fact yoriichi created a videogame character based off him and made it a killable demon in - game is completely irrelevant and an excuse he uses because he really doesn’t want to open up the pandora’s box of abandonment issues.

oh, well, it really depends ! there’s the marines who have raised him and seen him become the respectful and intelligent young man who was nurtured by sengoku and managed to rise in the marine ranks while also building his own opinion on the world situation, there’s the tenryubito who sees him as a filthy traitor of the holy blood because of his father’s choice, and then there’s the people of the donquixote pirates simply looking at him as someone clumsy, a mute whose only great advantage is being doflamingo’s brother and good at doing his job when he’s not setting himself on fire by accident or kicking away kids from the base ; doflamingo sees him as his clumsy, weak and useless little brother who never would be able to betray him, the people of dressrosa fear him as a prince, sharing the same cursed blood as the ruler and assuming he’d hold that very same madness within doflamingo’s veins ━them all underestimating, like law at first, how actually sharp and clever and pretty much of a good liar rosi truly is. 

he doesn’t care about it, of course, albeit begrudgingly ━he knows he can’t change people’s minds about him, and how trying and trying only leads to bad conclusions, so he simply tries to have everything wash away from his shoulders and focus on his mission ; and the mission requires for him to be seen in a certain way in order to be free of any suspect and able to proceed with his duty.

🥝  :    does my muse have any  ‘  unusual  ’  habits,   interests,  and  /  or talents?  do they hide it,  or are they proud of it?  

i mean we all know he’s a klutz and he pretty much manages to set himself on fire while lighting a cigarette or falling down onto his ass even if he’s standing still ━but besides that, there’s nothing really unusual coming from him which is surprising considering his whole design. men wearing makeup is something widely accepted in the one piece world, so for sure the choice of matching the tattoo on his right eye with a glasgow grin made of liquid lipstick doesn’t get any complaint from the majority of the people.

oh, and he knows how to play the kalimba ━i put it here since the instrument itself is very rare and peculiar and not really diffused around━, which stems by the fact his father had tried to have both doflamingo and rosi to learn how to play an instrument, with terrible results on rosi’s part. as he hated to see his son so upset, he bought him a kalimba ( which was ofc very fancy considering they’re world nobles, with its base made in a whole slab of diamond ) as he saw the instrument as something small and easy for his clumsy son to learn to play, so that he wouldn’t feel like a failure compared to doflamingo. 

unfortunately, after leaving mariejois and being forced to be on the run, that kalimba had to be sold in order to have enough money to feed themselves for a while, which saddened rosi immensely ━but after doflamingo left to try and return to mariejois after killing their father and himself being adopted by sengoku, rosi received his current kalimba ( roughly around his 10th birthday ). it’s not economically precious like his first one, but it came from his mentor and father figure, and that was enough for him to make it even more valuable.

because of homing’s declaration of humanity and consequent choice to leave mariejois, the donquixotes are seen as a family tainted by the sin of ‘humanity’ who decided to toss away the godhood and purity of their blood in order to mix with commoners, according to the remaining world nobles who want nothing to do with them unless it’s those parts of the dynasty who remained and are pretty much making sure they won’t be compared to the ‘filthy sinners’ who have left ; so no, there’s nothing good within the walls of mariejois, nothing good for rosi to remember as he was already very uncomfortable with the lifestyle of a world noble ━often feeling like the black sheep of the family, which would totally be what he would’ve become if they never left the holy city━ ever since he was a child, and their treatment of his family especially after being forced to run and hide like criminals is still something rosi does resent deep inside, and that somehow helped him not idealizing the marines despite growing up within them.

many simply underestimate rosi because of his overall good nature and the innate clumsiness this whole two meters tall guy seems to have, but holy shit let’s not forget he’s a donquixote !! he’s doflamingo’s other half ( the decent one ), an ex - world noble who had started receiving education within the tenryubito gates before his father took the family away from there, and y’all can bet he did reach the rank of commander in the marines AND managed to keep his cover within the donquixote pirates for more than four years because of his intelligence and not because he’s been ‘adopted’ by sengoku and put in a position of favour ; rosi knew always what the hell he was doing even when he decided to leave with law to find him a cure, he weighed every fucking possibility before taking a decision, and that tells a lot of how actually sharp and cunning his mind is !! 

and speaking of admiral sengoku, the old man has seen there was something so promising in the little kid he found and took with himself, and the powers the kid had been given by the nagi nagi no mi ━which let me tell you !! it’s a great power to have for assassination, espionage and recog since it pretty much makes you impossible to trace, especially after it had been awakened ━it’s a power tailored to take everything away and leave but a token or two behind ESPECIALLY AFTER AWAKENING. 

while rosi sure still is a goddamn clumsy in most normal circumstances, which can’t definitely be helped as it’s somehow part of all those little things making him the mirror and yet opposite of doflamingo, sengoku surely managed to train him so that all that raw potential ━that could’ve ended up creating a second doflamingo if in the ‘ wrong ’ hands━ inside the young ex - world noble would blossom into a great asset for the marines, a marksman and soldier of utmost precision in battle able to bring every mission to success, trained for the kill and able to construct intricate plans and lyres to keep such plan afloat with the sheer force of his wits and a fruit matching them. 

🍊  :    does my muse desire romance?  is it something they would actively seek out,  or prefer to happen more  ‘  naturally?  ’  what is their love life like?  do they have any exes or past flings,  or crushes?  

considering rosi was a world noble and had been educated as one in his early childhood, he was already aware that something like love wasn’t exactly going to be an option for himself simply because world nobles still do practice things like arranged marriages and occasionally inbreeding with the purpose of keeping the bloodlines as pure as possible and avoid any sort of ‘contamination’ ( gross, i know, but considering they’re based off late medieval / reinassance era european nobles,,, that was what would historically happen, orz ), and of course both he and doflamingo were immediately made aware that they’d have to marry someone that was chosen for them by the family and they had no choice or say on the matter. 

it was something way too easy for himself to unlearn and not think about it after being forced to poverty by his father’s decision, but it was only while being raised and trained by sengoku that he had a more ‘ humane ’ approach to sentiments. while sengoku would reprimand him in a very fatherly way to be cautious with developing crushes with other cadets, he never really went against rosi acting like a boy his age and getting crushes / having small flings / getting dumped and has always been very open and supportive of all the times rosi questioned himself and admitted of his bisexuality. 

of course there were moments in which rosi had to seduce others in order to get information marines needed in a mission or two, but he’s always been good at keeping the farce up without getting truly compromised ━which is something he occasionally does while infiltrated in the doquixote pirate crew, hopping from a fling to another.

hitoshi at first can and will definitely seem like someone who has some big opportunistic vibes, which is often given by the fact no one knows what’s going on with him ; he is known to be mysterious and cunning, alongside having a quirk that is often discriminated on and made to be something villainous when it’s his intention to prove that there’s no inherently good or evil quirk, so of course people would be more prone to see anything that comes from him as having some second motive rather than being genuine and guided by kindness, when most of the times ... there’s no secret agenda behind his actions. hitoshi is actually often seeking for some sort of acceptance, wanting to be tolerated rather than molding himself into other’s expectations ( which he knows he cannot, so what’s the point ), but he cannot stop people from thinking whatever they want about him, even when he’s really genuine in wanting to help and wanting to be a hero just like those few, stubborn people he’s truly started to consider as friends.

no okay let’s be serious: his dietary habits suck shit as he was barely fed when being in the orphanage and with his foster homes, and if he eats decently now it’s all because of both aizawa and mic who make sure he’s eating regularly because you can bet he keeps skipping meals until he feels sick and forget to put something in his mouth without daily reminders.  

also, there’s his addiction to coffee, which really needs to be toned down ( uselessly ).

it is absolutely no secret how highly tanjirou values the companionship of friends, family and comrades ! he thinks that it’s the closeness and the love and the care of people around you what can save you from the darkest pits of your soul ( and that’s beyond the cultural aspects of the importance of family and respect towards elders that existed in japan way before the taisho era ), and that needs to be cultivated and doted on as lovingly as one would do with a flower ; he comes from a tiny village, after all, so he’s really used to have and wanting to have people around, ending up really unnerved when there’s too much silence, or something off in all those little things he’s learnt to love and recognizes as something that makes him feel safe. the fact his senses are very heightened for his age really come forth in these cases.

for tanjirou, any occasion is good to make friends, indeed ! he’s not a fan of conflict, it’s been shown with his compassion and his attempts at solving anything via talking before having to use rougher means, so to him any person is a potential friend, even when they happen to stand on the opposite side ( see yushiro, technically an ‘enemy’ since he’s a demon, and yet ended up trapped in the Friendship Web of the sunny slayer boy ).
