Getting Your Child Help in the Classroom

Research shows ADHD Not Addressed in Schools

Although research suggests that school intervention improves behavior and academics of students with disabilities such as ADHD, only 1 in 3 “with ADHD received no school-based interventions, and 2 out of 3 received no classroom management.” I have observed this almost daily during a career of evaluating and writing academic accommodations for students with ADHD and other academic impacting issues. For 25 years, I have helped parents fight for their children’s academic rights. This is the reason that I am co-founding a website to help parents understand their children’s academic needs and advocate for their education. I have helped one child at a time, but see the need to address the change in education that needs to occur. Keep on the lookout for IEPAcademy.com!

"Let him snuggle with me!" That's all I had to say and my awesome PT Judy Blasczyk plopped this French Bulldog right down on to the massage table! I've found that massages help reduce my RA hand swelling. TIP: Get a therapist who is experienced and knowledgeable if you have joint or spine problems! #dogmassage #snorefest #unexpectedbonus #frenchbulldoglove (at Santa Cruz, California) https://www.instagram.com/p/BthCO-aAlD6/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=bfe43d8f9d85

My Uncle Larry’s birthday would have been today, on Memorial Day. My Uncle Larry died three years ago of ALS – “Lou Gehrig’s Disease.” Uncle Larry did a lot of cool things in his life. He was a high school and college basketball and track star. Not only was he in the Air Force when younger, but he was also a middle school assistant principal. And he was always there for anyone that needed him. My Uncle Larry was a kind and good man. That sounds simplistic, but being kind and good are two things many strive to be, but are qualities that are difficult to achieve. He was brave throughout his terrible ordeal of living, and dying, with ALS. He was loved by so many, including me. I still miss him.

One person's long jump is another person's sandbox. . .
Sometimes a long jump and a sandbox are really the same thing. Try to make sandboxes out of your long jumps this coming week!
