I know I've made some variation of this post like three times in the last few years but I'll stop making it when it stops being revelant: Fiction can introduce political ideas to people, but exclusively engaging with fiction (especially mass market fiction) is not enough to develop any sort of solid political outlook, no matter how niceys and leftist the messaging and authorial intent behind this fiction is. If you actually care about discussing politics in any serious capacity then at some point you're going to have to bite the bullet and read some non-fiction literature about it.
A lot of people have to get better about this (I know I have to improve on this, and it's something I'm working to remedy). It's fine to *not* have taken this step yet, but if you're not aware that that's a step that needs to be eventually taken you're going to walk into a conversation about imperialism citing a cartoon like it's ability to handle Deep and Mature Topics™ makes it equivalent to actual theory and you're gonna embarrass yourself.

Do you like old timey country music or bluegrass? Do you wanna support Indigenous people making contemporary music in their own languages?
Well if you answered yes to both of these questions, please check out Agalisiga’s album Nasgino Inage Nidayulenvi (It Started In the Woods). He’s a Cherokee singer who recently released a whole album IN CHEROKEE. And it’s really good! Available on Bandcamp and other streaming services now!!!!
