I was watching a video on YouTube and a guy dropped "oh yeah the devs are also from eastern europe so they have to deal with living in a country so depressing it was inspiration for video game dystopias" and I was like... you do know that eastern Europe is not a horrible unliveable pit of sorrows and that the people who live there aren't just fighting in the streets for breadcrumbs and to survive, people just LIVE there, but then I remembered. The mind of an american cannot comprehend outside world and people who speak other language as anything else than unwashed savages

boomer take incoming but there's something that ends up kind of anti-social about social media in the way people use it as their only avenue of disseminating information. like the amount of times that I have completely missed big news from my friends or relatives because they're in the mindset that posting about something on Instagram is the same as telling people. they don't think to send a text or pick up a phone because they posted about it. so if you either aren't on Instagram or just didn't happen to see that post, you get to find out months later something like your cousin is pregnant or your childhood friend is engaged, and now is probably annoyed that you never congratulated her, when you literally didn't know, because she didn't actually tell you, because an Instagram story is actually not the same as telling people your news, but she thinks it is.

the other thing about 2ha that's really good is that chu wanning is both very easily readable as autistic and is also seen as desirable and sexy by the narrative. he struggles intensely with interpersonal relationships and social interactions, often coming off as blunt and mean when he isn't trying to. he owns about 30 variations of the same outfit to the point where he has a bunch of different nicknames based on the fact that he only wears that one outfit. he has trouble with personal hygiene and his room is always dirty. he has like 1 friend who has to remind him to do stuff like eat food, sleep, and bathe. he is very particular about food and often eats the same things over and over again. his love language is very 'practical' and so comes off as snubbing or scolding by accident.

and he is still intensely desirable to mo ran. unlike a lot of "mean" love interests he doesn't have to undergo a personality transplant to end up with the mc either - he will always be a little stiff and awkward and standoffish (and yeah sometimes mean) and that's okay because they are both working on meeting each other in the middle and understanding each other. love is when you pile your plate high with food your wife doesn't like and spend the entire meal tricking him into eating a balanced diet
