“You’re a MONSTER,” Hakon panted, “You need to be put down, kid.”

Aiden’s body locked in place. His heart hammered wildly against his rib cage. Tears began welling up in his eyes, as his bottom lip began to tremble. He furrowed his brow and locked his jaw as the initial shock passed. Denial clouded his thoughts.

Monster? 

A hiss escaped through Hakon’s teeth as he stumbled to right himself on unsteady legs, face pinched with pain.

This can’t be right. Aiden’s fists clenched. No, no this is wrong. Hakon wouldn’t- Hakon has helped me this entire time in the god forsaken city. He’s my f-

“Don’t look at me like that, kid” he spat, “You didn’t really think that I was your friend, did you? Waltz needs me to get him that key. Now,” he held out his palm, face up, “ give me that fucking key Aiden.”

Hot anger rose in Aiden’s throat. Blinking away unshed tears he bared his teeth. He slowly raised his crossbow and pointed it squarely at the older man’s chest. Arrow aimed to kill.

“Just try to take it.”
