Writing tip of the day: sometimes, just let yourself fuck that plot up.

I spent months slogging through this one pivotal chapter before I was finally honest with myself: this isn't doing it for me. It might work, but it's not fun to write. So I cut/pasted the entire chapter to another document for safekeeping, reworked the plot to exclude that particular scene, and wrote a pivotal chapter that I enjoyed writing and that worked much better.

Have fun while you're writing. Let yourself deviate from your original plan. Experiment. Switch things up. Let things go. Add things when it feels right. You haven't failed if you decide to change the plot or the writing style or whatever -- you're exploring.

I find myself struggling a lot lately. I don't feel attractive, or desirable. I feel ugly and unwanted.

I know my husband doesn't think that about me, but it doesn't stop my mind from making the leap.

I feel like I'm drowning and I don't know what to do about it...
