A/N: so I used google translate for the translations and they’ll be in brackets by the side of the sentence!

You had always wanted to try and pick up a different language so when you started to date Dave, you knew this would be the perfect time.

While he was away on cases, you would attend classes and practice what you had learnt when you were at your apartment.

Today, you decided was the perfect night to to show him what you had learned.

It was your one year anniversary and you were waiting for him to come pick you up for your date.

As if on cue, there was a light knock on your door and you rushed over.

“Hey.” You smiled.

Dave smiled back and leant down, pressing a kiss to your cheek as he handed you some flowers and a small box.

“Aw, you didn’t have to get my anything darling.” You smiled.

“Of course I did amore mio (my love), you deserve every last gift.”

You laughed slightly and let him come in as you went to set the floor in a vase.

Once that was done, you carefully opened the wrapped box he had given to you and let out a small gasp.

In front of you was the most beautiful necklace you had ever seen.

“I know you’ve been wanting it.”

“Dave…” you whispered.

He hummed, taking the necklace from the box he stood behind you as he carefully clasped it around your neck before pressing a kiss to the back of your head and walking around you again.

He smiled to himself and placed his hand on your cheek, rubbing his thumb along your skin as you leant into his touch.

“Absolutely stunning.” He whispered.

Placing your hand over his, you kissed his palm before reaching down, grabbing a small box you had gotten for him.

“I know it isn’t much, but I saw it and thought it was perfect.”

“And you say I didn’t have to get you anything.” He teased lightly.

You watched Dave as he opened the small box, revealing a beautiful silver watch which he carefully took out from the box.

“Look at the back.”

He did, running his fingers along the inscription before reading it aloud.

“I will always treasure our time together. I love you, (Y/N).”

He smiled softly and you leant forward, kissing the side of his mouth before pulling away.

“I know you already have a watch, but I know how much you love them. I got it specially made from a small company in Italy.” You beamed.

He chuckled, taking his other watch off as he put this one on his wrist with a huge smile on his face.

“Of course you did.”

Dave offered you his arm and you took it, looping your with his as you guys made your out for you date.

You guys went for dinner and your favourite restaurant before you started to aimlessly walk around the city.

Flicking your eyes to the man next to you, you smiled softly as you gently tugged him to a stop under a street light.

“Everything okay?” He asked.

“Perfect, actually I have something to tell you.”

“Oh?”

You took a dee breath, and remembered the sentence you had been practicing for a while.

Reaching up, you placed your hand on his cheek, giving him a gentle smile.

“I’ve been taking lessons, for you.”

He laughed, cradling your face between his hands, you leant down and kissed you. When he pulled away, he only did so by a few centimetres.

Closing his eyes, he pressed his forehead to yours.

“You are a blessing.”

You laughed slightly, wrapping your arms around his neck as you melted into his touch.

“I wanted to learn your language, since you know mine.”

Dave hummed, giving you a few gentle kisses before he pulled away, settling for having his hands on your waist as you guys simply stood there smiling at one another.

You, Jess and kasie were spending your day off having a girls day out. You had been hanging out the last few hours when your phone buzzed, you took a quick glance and saw that it was a notification for a game that you played and ignored it.

“It’s nearly 3pm, we should get some lunch. Any ideas?” You asked the girls. “How about Sushi?” Said kasie “ I can’t, I’m allergic to seaweed” you replied. “Ooh I know what about that new Italian place just down the road” Jess said “I’m in, what about you Y/N” “Me too. I can’t refuse a good pasta dish”

A little bit later while you and the girls are enjoying the food your phones buzzes again. “Sorry girls it’s probably just my game again” “Are you sure it’s not Mr loverboy” Kasie quipped “Ooh it probably is, shes blushing” Jess said. “If I look will you to be quiet about it” “Yeah” they both said.

You pulled out your phone and to your surprise it was actually a text from your long term boyfriend and boss Alden. “Ok you were right, it was Parker” you said. “Aww how cute, is he checking up on you?” Asked kasie. “Nope he’s saying he has a confession to make” “ That don’t sound good. Ask him what he means” Jess added. “Already on it” you said.

“What the fuck? He lied to me!” You said sounding slightly upset. “Why, what did he lie about?” Asked Jess. “Remember the other day in the bullpen when me, you, Kas, Jimmy and Tim were talking about the Walking Dead and about Negans first few episodes” “yeah what’s that got to do with it?” Kasie asked. “Remember Alden joined in and said a couple of things, well it turns out he’s never seen the season 7 premiere episode” “How has he not seen it, you’re constantly talking about wanting to be ‘married to Negan/Jeffrey’ and you’re always there watching TWD” Jess said. “No idea, just look at the texts he sent though”

“Sounds like you have a date tonight though” kasie said chuckling. “Sure seems that way” you said “Wait that said see you at home. Do you and Parker live together?” Jess asked “Yeah, we do. A little while later you were sat on the couch cuddled up with Alden ready to watch the Walking Dead. “You ready this time baby” you asked him as you placed a kiss on his lips. “Yeah I’m ready sweetheart, have you got everything you need?” “I think so” you take a quick look and notice that you need some tissues because you know that you’ll cry but he might get upset as a character he likes gets killed. “Nope I need tissues, do you need anything will I grab them” you ask. “No I’m good”

You quickly grab the tissues and start the episode. A little while into the episode you look over and see tears forming in his eyes. “You ok babe?” You ask him while cuddling closer to him. “Yeah I’ll be fine, I just can’t believe he actually killed him. I mean it’s kinda Daryls fault but still. What the fuck!” “Hold on a second, you can’t blame Daryl for this. I mean don’t get me wrong he shouldn’t of punched Negan but still. Besides Negan is a psychopath and that’s coming from someone that loves him.”

You to continued to argue for some time, until you glanced over and realized that the end credits were playing “great now we missed the rest of the episode” he said slightly annoyed “Look it’s not my fault we got distracted.” “No, then whose is it?” “Yours, for making accusations about it” you say as you move away from him getting up to get yourself a drink and to stop any arguments forming.

It’s now 11pm and you have showered and got yourself ready lying in bed, at first you keep thinking that Alden isn’t going to join you, but then the door slowly creeks open. “Can I join you or should I sleep in the spare room?” He asks with a guilty look on his face. “Get in here you goof. I would of kicked your butt if you went into the spare room” “I’m sorry for what I said baby I didn’t mean to upset you” “I know you didn’t sweetheart.” You say as you cuddle up closer to him wrapping your arm around his chest leaning your head on his shoulder. “I love you, so fucking much Y/N Y/L/N” He says his voice breaking slightly. “I love you so fucking much Alden Parker. Sorry it’s been a while. I recently watched enchanted and had this idea so I had to write it. Especially because it’s Parker @mandy426 @navalcriminalimagines

A soft knock came from the bathroom door “ Y/N are you ready?” Jess asked as she walked further into the bathroom. You took a deep breath and smoothed out your already smooth dress, the glistening navy blue dress flowed down your body like a waterfall, pooling at your feet. It hugged your figure in all the right places while still leaving something to the imagination.

“As ready as I’ll ever be” you mumbled, slipping into your heels and taking one last look in the mirrors before accepting Jess’s outstretched hand. NCIS was holding some kind of annual charity ball and everyone had to go. You hated these parties but Jess and Kasie made them more bearable.

You’d sit at your table or the bar and make fun of the other guests, commenting on outfits and giving distant conversations your own commentary outcomes. Tonight was no different, perched on a stool with a glass of whiskey in your hand you sit and observe the crowd.

Tim is was dancing with Delilah to the upbeat tune that played over head. Ducky and Jimmy were having a somewhat in depth conversation about something, Nick and Jess were at the other end of the bar doing shots while Kasie filmed them, even Vance was there chuckling at something some important looking guy said. It was nice to see them letting lose for once. They deserved it, especially after the last case.

You sighed and downed the rest of your drink, checking your watch to see if it was acceptable for you to leave yet. Kasie jolted you from your daze with a elbow to your hip. “Hey! What was that for?” You whined rubbing your hip. “I thought you may want a bit of a warning” she said pointing towards the heavenly figure making his way towards you.

Alden Parker was looking rather dapper tonight, wearing what you could only assume to be a fairly expensive charcoal black suit. His pearly white button up hugged his toned chest, all finished off with a silk bow tie, that just so happened to match your dress perfectly.

“Evening ladies.” He leant down and gave you both a quick peck on the cheek. You swooned at the simple gesture. You had been an agent for nearly 10 years and Alden had only been on the team for 5 months but you had fallen hard and fast for him.

“Looking sharp Parker” Kasie said with a joking wink. Alden flicked some fake sort of his shoulder. “Does that surprise you?” He quipped. “He’s got you there Kas” you laughed playfully swatting her leg. “ I feel so attacked, I’m going to find new friends who love and appreciate me.” She called over her shoulder as she walks back over to Nick and Jess who were stumbling about from laughing to much.

Parker sighed, shaking his head. “Sometimes I worry about them” he sat down on the now vacant stool next to you, his arm sliding behind you resting on your upper arm and pulling you gently into his side. You froze, your skin tingling and goosebumps floating where he touched you. You sucked in some air, willing yourself to breathe. Calm down Y/N you said in your head repeatedly, You told yourself it didn’t mean anything.

Alden hummed along to the song sending vibrations through your body, you soon recognized the song that was playing as David Bowie’s Changes. You relaxed into his embrace soaking in each moment before they were snatched away and just became distant memories.

The song changed once again to something slower this time, all the couple gravitated to the dance floor and swayed side to side, silent messages of love being sent by subtle touches between them. Even some of the team got up. Tim and Delilah, Nick and Jess also Jimmy and Kasie.

Alden pulled his arm away instantly making you shiver and feel slightly upset, before he stood up dramatically bowing slightly in front of you, holding out his hand looking up at you through his gorgeous lashes. “Sweet Y/N, light of my life. The breath in my lungs may I have this dance?” He flirted. You felt the heat rush to your cheeks, sure he was probably joking but it made you feel special almost like Disney princess. “Of course you may Alden, it would be my pleasure.” you said with a slight blush.

You place your hand in his as he twirls you around, your dress flying beautifully around your legs. He lead you to the dance floor past the on lookers especially Kasie who gave you a knowing look over Jimmys shoulder. Aldens hand settled on your hip pulling you closer to him. Adrenaline buzzed through your veins, time seemed to slow down and all that mattered was you and Alden. In his arms you felt safe, like you belonged there, you could say it felt like home.

You looked up and noticed that his usually straight laced face was now supporting a very subtle smile. He cupped your face with his hand and brushed his thumb over your cheek. Leaning into his touch you savoured the moment, all you wanted was for him to hold you like this forever and always.

“Alden” you whispered his name like a prayer. He flashed you his signature smirk, his hand moved to the back of your neck, pulling you closer until you were merely inches apart. You breath caught in your throat as his gorgeous eyes flickered to your lips. He leant in at a painstakingly slow pace. “Y/N” his lips brushed yours. Sparks surged through out your whole body. Your hand moved and tangled into his soft salt and pepper locks.

The moment was ruined as you felt someone place their hand on your shoulder, “come dance with us Y/N. This is our song” Jess said as she dragged you towards Kasie. “Jess” you pleaded, trying to break free from her death grip. You stood up on your tiptoes, looking over everyone’s head in the hopes of spotting Alden.

You spotted him being dragged away by someone you didn’t recognize. Thankfully Jess had let go of your arm, deciding that it wasn’t fun anymore you decide to slip away. Taking off in the direction you saw Alden go, you eased your way through the crowd and what you saw was a kick in the metaphorical balls. You felt physically ill, shallow breaths escaped as tears tried to spill from your eyes.

You found Parker...Found him in the arms of another woman. She had him pressed up against the wall, attacking his neck with harsh kisses. A sob wrecked your body as you turned on your heels and fled, ignoring the shouts of your name. You smashed the elevator button, tears flowing down your face. How could you of been so stupid?

You thought that maybe he was different, but obviously not. You finally left the elevator and raced to your car. Locking yourself in behind the wheel as the tears still streamed. There was a knock on your window, you looked up through your blurred vision you spotted him. “Y/N please open up” Alden begged his voice cracking slightly, when you didn’t reply he knocked again. “Please Y/N, let me explain” “Fuck off Alden” you spat turning your head away from him. “ It didn’t mean anything Y/N she came on to me”.

He looked into your broken eyes searching for some kind of understanding. You took a ragged breath trying to control yourself, you rolled the window down a little bit. “I hope she made you happy”. You rolled the window back up. Sinking back in the chair you turned on the radio, the song So close by Jon McLaughlin played. The words of the song hit deeply and right in the heart

You softly whispered along with the words. “We’re so close to reaching that famous happy ending, almost believing this ones not pretend. Let’s go on dreaming for we know we are, so close, so close and still so far.”

The next morning

If Gibbs knew, he’d be mad. If he knew you had broken Rule 12 shortly after he left, he’d probably be disappointed and you wouldn’t blame him for it. But how could you not? Alden Parker made it very hard not to. Besides being one of the most attractive men you’ve ever seen, he’s also sweet, thoughtful, smart, funny and a goddamn good federal agent.

You never planned to act on your crush at first. You didn’t think he could see you the same way you were seeing him, but much to your surprise, he totally did.

Sharing the same love for music, you didn’t overthink when Alden invited you to join him to a bar where a local band was playing. You told yourself he only invited you because he considered the others wouldn’t be interested. But when he stood right behind in the small crowd and lay his hand on your hip, you figured that it was more.

So you took a shot and kissed as soon as you left the bar. Returning your kiss, Alden confessed his attraction and beginning of feelings for you. He invited you to his place and you immediately agreed.

Alden woke up before you did and he slept a long moment looking at your sleepy face, the rise and fall of your chest. He couldn’t believe that you were right here in his bed. Inviting you to the concert the night before was a long shot, putting his hand on your curve was a risk to get punch - or shot, he considered all options - but he had a crazy theory where you returned the feeling and apparently, he wasn’t wrong.

He knew you had been through a lot in the past year, more than anyone should go through in a lifetime. At some point, you had confessed about your insomnia, so when he saw you peacefully asleep next to him, he had no intention of waking you up.

He got out of bed as quietly as possible and went to cook your breakfast. He barely had time to make his morning coffee, when his phone buzzed. Sighing, he pried to god it wasn’t a case or an emergency and to his surprise, your name popped up.

Y/n: It’s too cold! Come back!

Laughing - and slightly disappointed he didn’t do a better job at not waking you up - Alden typed his answer.

Alden: Cooking breakfast for my lady ❤️ Pancakes or waffles?

Waiting for an answer, he started to get everything he needed to cook. His phone didn’t buzz again, but he felt a body hugging him from behind. He smiled and felt your cold hands going commando under his t-shirt. “Mmh… you’re warm.” You happily said, kissing between his shoulder blade. “Waffles for me, handsome.”

Waffles it was.

Later that morning, you and Alden were making out on his couch. He had no intention of doing anything but this that day. All he wanted to do was enjoy every second he had with you. You didn’t say anything about having feelings for him, so maybe it was a one time thing for you - not that you showed any sign that it was - so when you tried to get up, Alden held you tighter, keeping you in place. “No, you can’t get up. You’re my prisoner for today.” He said, gently biting your neck.

Laughing, you ran your hands through his soft hair, “as much as I love the sound of that,” you pecked his lips, “I need to go to the bathroom.”

Reluctantly, he let go of you. “In that case,” he held his hand in surrender, “but don’t be too long.” He called out as you were walking away. You laughed even more.

Alden didn’t care if he appeared like a needy man - because truth being told, he totally was with you. He wanted to hear your laugh every minute of every day. He wanted to kiss you, touch and hold as much as humanly possible. He wanted to watch you sleep for hours if it meant that your insomnia were gone. He wanted you and your happiness more than anything.
