Can I interest you in a Mu Qing fic?

Mu Qing is literally so full of angst potential like what if I just bomb-dropped a 25k+ fic about him falling asleep and not wanting to wake up bc he finally gets to see his mom again and then FX or HX i havent decided go crazy trying to wake him up again. I swear its a lot more complicated than that. Like. I have so so so many plans, this is gonna be 520 bullets to your chest.

I mean, I'm wildly debating between He Xuan + Mu Qing and FengQing 🤷‍♀️🤷🤷‍♂️

like are we in the mood for

Like on one hand for MQ, it's like "The guy I like hates me, has a wife, and probably used to have a crush on my ex-boss." And on the other its like "Well damn. He inflitrated heaven, also had a fling w one of my fellow gods, and now they're poor."

It's "I can cook the old Xianle dishes for him bc we're the only ones left to remember our kingdom" which is SO depressing---and on the other hand its "He's poor jus like me and also constantly hungry and I'm good at cooking."

👀👀👀how many ppl would be interested in reading? which ship would you prefer?

here it is! the totally long awaited 3rd installment aka double update.

Obviously, WWX was a major help in taking down the Wen Corps, but also. While studying there, he actually accidentally had a genius moment where he found the cultivation they were experimenting w. 

(did i mention this was a modern cultivation au?)

See the Wens had been Up To No Good. And they had a lab where they managed to trap some resentful energy. WWX since he so genius was put to shadow another couple of scientists to figure out how to “study it.” 

WWX had a Big Brain Moment and figured out he could actually cultivate it!! 

He also met members of a smaller branch of Wen&Co: Dafan Wen

Unpopular opinion, he reopened Wen Corps and renamed it Yilling Wei or Yilling Corps or smt like that. Real real unpopular.

The other companies didn't like the Wens still having any legacy.

Other ppl were wary of demonic cultivation.

But eventually some common ppl were like.

"Who cares what kinda cultivation it is? As long as it gets us results!!"

So actually. It isn't long until YLC starts picking up some customers and pace.

Obviously. There are still haters, and lots of scandals and gossip columns. But now WWX is doing good!!

And the Business Corporate World is like 😠😬😬😠!!

JGS: No no u don't understand he might beat me----Er. I mean. Its demonic cultivation!!

Also JGS: *pulls out cold cases from police station that have nothing to do with anything* LOOK! MISSING PPL. IT MUST BE HIS FAULT! 

JGS: He’s kidnapping them and using their bodies as fertilizer for his all organic vegetable farm 🧠🧠

LWJ:...The cases started over 10 years ago. WWX would've been a baby.

JGS: ExACtLy!! He was BoRN a MoNstER 👿👿

And you  know what? Nothing added up or made sense but sadly. It's always easier to just follow whoever was the richest/strongest at the time. so. all the other companies immediately got it in their head that WWX's company was bad.

Gusu Lan Corps was the only one who actually was like "oh no demonic cultivation bad"

Most others didn't really mind it and were kinda just wary of him cause how smart and fast he was rising. 

And the whole scandal and mystery behind how he "abandoned" his family (Jiangs) to defect and build own business

Cause. Duty to your family and all is VERY big. Which obviously WWX does have his sense of duty to the Jiangs, but like in the novel, he never lets that sense of gratitude and duty to his family get in the way of being a “good” person.

There’s honor to your family, which he does do, respecting the Jiangs. There’s also honor to himself: standing his ground no matter what ppl think of him. And the honor found in helping the in need.

Jiang Cheng canonically has a very strong sense of duty to his family over “outsiders” so obv he and WWX clash over WWX’s decision to leave Yunmeng Corps.

WWX’s like: Uh. No. I can't just stand by and let these ppl be wrongly fired just cause of their last name/job.

These are ppl w potential!! Wen Qing was a genius and getting rejected from med school and stuff, just cause she was "a Wen" and "associated with" WRH.

And obviously. The BCW is like we need to do smt to keep WWX in check!! But how can we do that?!?

Plot Device #2 aka Side Character #1: OH I KNOW! What if we just did what HE DID with WRH but like against him?! No way he'd ever notice. 🧠🤓💡

Thus. Over the course of a few months/years. They kept sending both assassins and spies to WWX's company. 

The first time they sent an assassin/spy/"intern" after him, wei ying finished him off in under ten seconds. the second third fourth fifth was the same.

The next time, it was MianMian JGS's niece. And WWX recognized her and finally got her name!!

She also ended up working for him for real bc her uncle lowkey sucks. 😊

And also now she can give updates to JZX to give to JYL!!

The next time the BCW sent a spy, it was a scrawny boy barely 19 yet, fierce and it actually took WWX a while because hey, the kid was good. 

And also he was a bit surprised to find the kid was a demonic cultivator too. 

Which. In Xue Yang's hands. was probably a bad thing.

But WWX gives him a good old whooping and lecture and XY becomes YLC's unofficial hissy black cat/security guard/WN's little assistent/WWX's annoying pesky little bro.

The 10th time. 

WWX would never forget it. 

The 10th time, they sent Lan Zhan.

I just realized I have no idea how to do this. Like link the fic parts together. Bear with me while I figure it out.

Also. I forgot to schedule yesterday's post. :(. So double post today to make up for it!!

Long story short-ish, in high school, WWX + friends went to fancy boarding school. and it was a fancy school. Real fancy. For fancy kids. Cloud Recess Private Academy. Probably. 

Lets say the Lans own a company but also devote pt of business to fancy private schooling.

Unfortunately, they have this really annoying rival school called uh…Plot Device #1. 

And this kid, named Wen Chao from PD#1 kept insisting that he had rejected an invite from CRPA when everyone knew it was cause he wasn’t good enough to get in. 

Now our resident small dick no brawn no muscle bully was also (fortunately for him, unfortunately for everyone else) the son of our resident handsome but sadly evil no good daddy Wen Ruohan.

WRH owns ‘Super Big Super Important Company.’

WWX + friends had a great time making fun of “Young Master Chao.”  

Unfortunately, WC ran crying to daddy Wen. So Wen&Co sued WWX’s family’s company and also got CRPA to be shut down. 

Not sure how they do that, but money works wonders!!

Anyways. Obviously. the Jiangs being freshly nearly bankrupt 🚫💴💴YZY is like steaming mad 😤

So she threatens to kick WWX out but JFM steps in so instead all she does is revoke his college money. 

As in, she refuses to pay for his tuition. Which is fine! WWX is smart boi and he has scholarships!!

But oh no! Wen&Co revoke all WWX’s scholarships. Cause its been made pretty clear that WWX is enemy to Wens, and seeing as to how CRPA got shut down, all the other schools are quick to turn their backs on WWX.

WWX is now very very broke college boy 

Obv. now he has to work for money!! So he goes to intern at Wen Corps. Why? Well, maybe WC hates WWX but WRH recognizes he has potential as very smart boi w very good cultivation.

So Wen Daddy reaches out.

WRH: hello😊

WWX: 🙀🤬😠👿

WRH: So you know how like. I totally ruined ur life bc u made fun of WC's funky haircut?

WWX: 😠👿yEaH?!?

WRH: Well. Also. I've made it impossible for u to find a good paying job anywhere else.

WWX:...

WRH:😊😊

Obviously, at first. WWX’s all like “No!” But then he changes his mind and decides YEA the Wens are AwEsOMe.

Just kidding. He mulls it over for 30s and decides ‘Nope. Still hate WC. Still hate WRH.’ He was complaining about it to NHS and NHS agreed w him wholeheartedly. 

WWX: I hate them! Never gonna work for them. 😠😠

NHS: Yea! They’re so mean. If only someone could work from the inside to take them down.

WWX: …

NHS: 😇😇

WWX: 💡🧠💡

And so WWX decides this is the perfect opportunity to take down Wen&Co and save a buncha ppl being scammed outta their money. 

So WWX+friends did it yay! WRH and his two sons Asshole 1 and Idiot 2 are thrown behind bars!! If WWX accidentally ran WC over w his own sports car before police could do proper arrest. Oopsie. Was an accident. 🚘🚘

And if WRH was stabbed in the back (literally and figuratively) by Jin Guanyao during a heated confrontation w Nie Mingjue about how WRH had staged NMJ’s dad’s death. Oopsie. Smt smt self-defense. 💀💀

If WX just mysteriously disappeared and they found bits of his body here and there. Too bad so sad. How unfortunate. 🥲🥲

There was a time, a time Wei Ying sometimes remembered fondly, other times, recalled bitterly. When he had been a bright promising student at school. The kind that all teachers dreaded, feared, and admired at the same time. 

When he made even Lan Qiren (his high school history teacher) gruffly tell him, “You have a bright future ahead of you Wei Wuxian.”

Sadly, Teacher Lan was never one to just drop a kind word for WWX. 🥲 (though that may or may not have to do w WWX constantly disrupting class/flirting w Teacher Lan's very pretty nephew. 😬

For someone who insisted on silence in the classroom and at lunch, LQR was very fond of yelling at WWX at the top of his voice.

And it used to make WWX equal parts angry and equal parts amused. He’d thought, back then, that surely he’d be able to prove Lan Qiren wrong. Nowadays, it just made Wei Wuxian laugh. Because, he supposed, Lan Qiren had never been wrong before, had he? 

(And he supposed that made Yu-Ayi right too.)

Needless to say. He was not, in fact, the cancer-curing genius they all expected him to be. He was just. The estranged, broke, college dropout, debt-drowning CEO of an equally debt-drowning infamous company: Yilling Wei Corps.

What was funny was his company, which hardly anyone took seriously. But if anything, he was determined to get it right. 

Because, even if the world turned against him, he was sure he could make them all swallow their words.

Such a cute little modern au Qi Rong-centric fic. A little rushed in the beginning but the quality goes up after the first two chapters. 9/10 recommend!
