If u r someone who hesitates to create out of fear it wont turn out good, let me tell u that there will never be a point in ur artistic journey where u cease to ever make smthing that u dont end up liking. There will always be bad drawings, bad sculpts, etc regardless of how far along u are. So dont think its a proper reflection of ur capabilities, n dont let it stop u from creating. Bad art is just as necessary as good art

And if ur at a point where majority of ur stuff seems bad, thats a sign ur artistic eye has developed and ur hands just need a little more practice to catch up. So keep going n be patient w urself

Coming from a place of consistently studying art fundamentals for years, i dont think the "know the rules before u break them" standard is at all necessary for creating art. Yes studying fundamentals can improve your technical knowledge base, but the root of what makes art "good" is not a matter of technical prowess. For me, expanding my horizons by observing/listening/reading different media than what was originally within my bubble has benefitted my art in ways more valuable than any how-to ever has

if i had to guess id say this took about an hour n a half. its not entirely accurate to my typical workflow cos the background was just thrown in haphazardly, usually my drawings w backgrounds i first do preliminary sketches for compositional placement/perspective.
