In you&i Morgan and Lexi's relationship is actually quite tense because she's in the middle of the breakup while they're still waffling about picking sides. There's a decisive moment in the last third of you&i where Lexi does finally side with Mor and realizes they've been a bad friend, but up until that point it's messy

The idea of driving in NYC gives me HIVES how does Mor Do It???

it's so funny to admit, but i'm happy someone asked because I actually put so much thought into Morgan's driving and how it balances with her life and Dom being a passenger prince LOLLL

The answer is: she does it very rarely!! When they're traveling within the Manhattan area (where they live) they usually take public transit, and Dom takes the lead on those days.

After her diagnosis, Mor tries really hard not to have things outside their usual region, because driving is a realistic risk-- but she has to balance this with the fact public transportation gives her really bad anxiety. They typically schedule things so Domi can go with her as her support person on the train, and even driving, she tries not to do it herself much anymore. Outside of her public transit anxiety, Mor also likes the freedom and agency of driving, which is tied to some of the toxic elements of her previous relationship with Dylan. It's a balancing act, but Mor has generally found her rhythm with it

I was browsing through your old DA gallery (mostly of Ocean of Cycles stuff, love the Clan of Storms) when I stumbled upon an old Romaine Hearts art that had Panos, Zoey and Ryan in it (as well as an old lady named Romaine) and seeing the small character blurbs for them on the page, I was curious how much of their original concepts did end up carrying over to modern DomMor and how much ended up changing? All of the characters you make get me so curious and excited for the worlds you build!

But YES, Ryan, Panos and Zoey were brought back for my latest iteration of Dom & Mor and I couldn't be happier. I will be introducing Romaine later as well, but she'll look drastically different

I'll ramble about them under the readmore

As some background info, I originally couldn't commit to Dom and Mor as a couple because of many things going on in my life. So I subconsciously threw them into an ensemble cast, which is where the other characters came from. I found myself constantly at a place where the others had concise and short stories, while Dom and Mor kept taking up a lot of real estate in my mind. It took many years to finally realize that they started as the main characters and would always be the main characters, so letting the others become a supporting cast has really really helped.

Romaine, Ryan, Panos and Zoey were introduced back when the project was VERY BLEAK-- it was the first version of "It Was You & I & The Afterlife"-- so their stories were all very sad. That's been the biggest change, I've decided to make them all generally have an easier time. Their personalities have become a lot more distinct now and overall I think they shine better as side characters

Ryan used to be Korean and bisexual and very very mopey, but now he's Japanese, gay, and very very loud LOLL. He used to not have very much presence (which was partly the point with his character) but I find him very vibrant now

Panos has changed the least in identity, he started out as a Black Greek bi man and he has stayed that except the 100% man part. It's been nice to have a demi-man enby, and I was very happy to decide to make the Black side of him Ethiopian!! Their personality has had a very significant shift-- he used to embody this very quiet, masculine figure, but nowadays they're playful, nurturing, and gentle. Panos is supposed to have a healing aura!

Zoey hasn't changed too much, she's still a quiet baby that doesn't talk much (which has always been character plot relevalant), but I think just allowing her to grow up a little less... sadly lol has given her some depth I hope to explore in the future

Romaine will probably have the biggest change LOL, I'm still working on her redesign but you'll see when I introduce her in Dom & Mor!!

I just wanted to say I've had webtoon downloaded on my phone for MONTHS but hadn't actually taken the time to browse any of the stories on there until like a month ago, and I immediately found Dom & Mor and their story has been everything to me.

I see a lot of myself in Mor especially and I really appreciate the chapters (including the most recent) where she talks about her insecurities around having childlike tendencies and trying to balance that with being a ✌🏾real adult✌🏾

Seeing Dom validate her, and just all the ways they validate each other and love each other genuinely brings tears to my eyes sometimes.

But yeah I just wanted to say I love this story, and I love these characters, and I cannot wait to see how the rest of their story goes💜✨

My biggest piece of advice is to read a lot, watch a lot, and study your favorite art through observation. Save, scan, and make an archive for art pieces, pages and sequences you love or left an impact on you, and moodboard often!!! Study them, trace them even (as long as you don't sell or take credit for the traces), be obsessed with art

For comics specifically, I also suggest Comics Devices, as well as Scott McCloud's Making Comics and other comic related books!

Just found Dom and Mor on webtoon and binged every episode last night <3 I think you genuinely chnaged my life, I love it so much! As a 1st gen Carribean American, I relate to Mor so much, especially her dynamic with her family. I only really outwardly express my queerness (lesbianness?) through online stories and here on Tumblr since I haven't been out for very long, but as a black girl, I think you're writing of Mor is so well done. I see myself in her every episode, I love it (she's drawn so cute 🥰). Her relationship with Dom is so adorable. and I love the Black girl/Asian girl lesbian rep; I don't see that often, and it means so much to see it done with so much care.

Hi! I already have a singer AU for Dom & Mor!

I actually really love music industry stories lol, and I WILL ramble so under a readmore it goes

Mor is a lesser known US singer who occassionally releases an indie album or EP, but primarily makes a living by selling songs and recording the demos for the artists who buy them. She wants to keep more of her songs, but she also doesn't want to deal with the anxiety of being a famous singer, so generally she's happy where she is

After an especially bad breakup with a guitarist of an underground rockband, several of Mor's songs get bought by a kpop group who want her involvement on their next comeback. She's asked to help advise on vocalization, as well as making sure the translation from English to Korean lyrics is smooth. So! Morgan Chambers goes on an anxiety-ridden business trip to S Korea

(Mor's career is based on singer/songwriters like RAYE and Skylar Grey, with an early Brandy kind of voice)

Dom is the youngest member of a girl-crush concept band; she's the maknae, visual, and lead vocalist. She was scouted in high school, and the money and dorming situation helped her escape her toxic family situation, so she's been throwing herself into her idol career. She dropped out of school and ended up taking multiple jobs under her agency (singing, shows, modeling, you name it, she was there)

Dom is currently going through a bit of burnout that she doesn't realize, but the latest song demos the group received have her feeling unusually excited. She develops an oblivious crush on the demo singer, and since her English is the best, she jumps at the idea of being the Most Involved with this mysterious songwriter coming from America.

(Dom's style for both singing and performing is heavily based on Hwang Minghyun of Nu'est. She's just the girl version of him lol)

As a bonus, here's a poster I sketched of Dom's band. I still haven't named them, and i'm debating using my other characters as the cameo members for this AU LOLLL but when I tell yall I love music industry stories....
