I meant out of character for novel Daiyu, sorry. Novel Lin Daiyu is one of my all time favorite fictional characters and I'm just really upset with what they did to my girl 😭

Game Daiyu is so bland and even the bodyguard thing could have been done well if they still kept anything intact from the novel but as it is, I don't even know why they included her.

I don't think she completely quit, I'm sure she still smokes when she's off the clock. Or she has stopped because she knows her turn is next. Either way, it definitely shows her willpower and I think fits my headcanon she is smoking as a form of self harm.

I don't think this was sent by anyone here as I assume people would just use tumblr asks for it, but just in case I'll post my answer here as well.

I don't go by Baoyu. At all. I am really lost.

I do have an introject but I make it very clear that's an introject/fictive and we don't use the name outside of that.

It just feels like people don't seem to know what DID is or perhaps I have gotten much too comfortable with being open about my system.

Regardless, I will be removing the publicly available information from my carrd and links to my other blogs. This is a misunderstanding I don't want to happen again. Being accused of somehow appropriating a culture is something I take very seriously. I am always trying to be open minded and learn things, especially given I grew up on a reservation and had very little access to outside cultures. I am very sheltered and I try and go out of my way now to learn so I can be a better person!

However this... is strange to me. Am I missing something? I literally only have the name Baoyu listed in my system information. And it clearly says she's a fictive? It's just talking about her source. That is not the name she uses when fronting. It's what I sometimes call her or other people do because, again, she is an introject.

But I have removed all links to my system and other blogs as this made me really uncomfortable. People are welcome to ask me about my system or other blogs but I will not have them in my carrd or pinned.

More serious answer:

I think you were very correct when you said eroguro. I don't think Zilu is used to seeing sexual aspects mixed in with gore, which is what I believe 100% is what Ryōshū drew. Rape and gore, Zilu can deal with, but when it comes to an obvious sexual gratification from the gore itself, I think it could easily freak her out.

I also think Zilu is relatively vanilla so extremely sexual things in general are startling to her. She was sheltered from kinks, besides what she encountered from being a Mao. She was raised as an assassin and then trained with Jia Qiu who seems mostly monk-like in his methods.

She is efficient and no stranger to violence or the ways of the City, but there's still of course things she isn't used to, things that Ryōshū knows how to exploit in most people.

Ryōshū herself is almost a cognitohazard. She knows to exploit reactions with her work and I almost think they may tie in some almost supernatural aspect.

The Pinky itself does not seem to focus on physical torture like other Fingers, specifically the Ring and the Thumb. Lei Heng was definitely an outlier given every other member of the Pinky we see.

I also think Zilu has a bit of a disassociation disorder. A way to cope with everything by drawing a strict mental barrier between work and off time. Like a service dog who knows to be serious when her uniform is on but more intense, a separate and necessary state of mind.

Another part is I'm wondering if Zilu wasn't on suppressants at the time.

The healing process may make her more hare than human if she allowed the Heishou Boluses to help heal her and she seems to prefer her skills with the blade and what she learned from Qiu and being a member of the Pinky instead of her Mao Branch abilities.

She looked too human to me that I refuse to believe she always looks like that. Where are her ears.

We know from Yi Sang's uptie that suppression Boluses also have a kind of memory loss effect, that being fully Leashed and a slave to their more animal instincts is a time that is hard to recall when they are not in this state.

I think this not only something caused by suppressants, but the act of transformation in general. Leaning further into allowing the Boluses to alter the body also alters the mind.

Zilu previously was more in the Mao mindset. Things she may encounter when "at work" she remembers in blurry and vague terms, a mental fog brought on by necessary disassociation and the Heishou Boluses. When we see her in the event, she is still in recovery and thus not mentally in the state of "work".
