there's a cherry blossom tree in DC that keeps blooming every year even though it shouldn't and the park service keeps thinking it's dead and then it keeps blooming! well they're removing a lot of trees to rehabilitate the area and they've said it's finally time for stumpy to go and they're going to mulch it and use the mulch to enrich all the other trees so it can help everything else keep going. and they're also going to plant spliced little pieces of it all over so that stumpy can live forever and this is genuinely sending me into a spiral

TL;DR: This guy was my 1st Doctor.

This right here is just an amazing reminder of the spirit the Doctor is thanks to their actors.

I grew up watching Tom Baker as the Doctor way back when I was in 1st grade after I got home from school. Channel 28 KCET had my attention at 5pm because the Doctor Who show was on. Homework be damned if wasn't finished before then. It could wait.

It was understood in our house. My parents were/are lovers of sci-fi (Dad) & fiction (Mom & Dad). I was raised a nerd & Dad introduced me to The Doctor.

I was thrilled by the adventures of this Sherlock Holmes looking man with a long scarf who traveled in a magical police call box. He had a smart female partner, a robot dog, and went on crazy adventures across time & space.

When I first think of the Doctor, I see this man's face.

on another note, watched The Mummy (1999) the other day and I couldn’t help  feel like the O’Connells and the Addams (Addams Family Values (1993) would get on really well ya know? The O’Connells are basically the pastel adventure version of the Addams, surely they would just be vibin’ over tea and crumpets in an extremely haunted mansion having a ball of a time
