With this book we are back to the realm of non fiction but this book is something that i would like to separate from the others in its genre. This book is down right scary, this makes it different than most because despite being something that happened so long ago the author does a dam good job at making the things that are happening just as scary as they are supposed to be. So if you are in the market for something that is informative as well as well written and now boring i recommend this book for you!

So now that I’ve gone over what a bunch of articles, and journals of real life events I thought something fictitious might be a breath of fresh air. This story is based off of the events of a certain event, I won’t say much because SPOILERS but I will say that the characters in this story are all lovable (with the exception but one, that guy is an asshole!). So go out and read this book! Plus you can find this for free online so there is also that lol

A Few Red Drops is an interesting book in terms of its content. It focuses on the Chicago race riot of 1919, but the way the author goes about it is the interesting part. Hartfield tells the events of the riot that occurred in 1919 and along with the events to lead to it, but along with this she gives accounts of other people who were around the conflict but not directly involved as swell as articles from African American news papers, Hartfield even includes the stories of the white community and the struggle they have to deal. This book does a great job of story telling blended with exposition, these two things along side of the of the gorgeous photography that is provided make for a good read. This is something that i highly recommend to anyone who is interested in learning about this particular event or the idea of race relations.

The book in picture (Title: An Undergrowth of Folly: Public Order, Race Anxiety, and the 1903 Evansville, Indiana, Riot by Brian Butler) is an interesting take on the breakdown and analysis of how race and the act of rioting are related. over the course of this book the author attempts to discuss the how relations between the blacks and whites in a town in american not by telling a story about a riot that took place but by exploring race relations and how it interacts with local government (and even state and country government to some extent). If you like books where plot isn’t everything then this might be the book for you.

So when dealing with the word riot it's often easy to associate this word with senseless violence, however that is most definitely not the case. I most cases when a riot happens it's because tension pertaining to a certain matter has reached an all time high, this can be almost anything, someone being killed, someone being tried unfairly, hell even someone who was was acquitted of a crime when they were certainly guilty. For the most part this how rioting works, something terrible happens then "BOOM!!!" A riot occurs. How ever it's not always senseless violence

In more recent years though when rioting happens, people take advantage of the situation. Like you can see about this guy who has no concern with what’s going on than trying to loot as much as he can.

It use to be that “riot” meant acting unruly or not behaving decently but not it seems that the act of rioting has acquired a connotation of of always being related to race. This is due to the fact that in the past 200 years that most of the riots that have happened because of racial inequality

What do you think of when you hear the word “riot”? Well some people think of a bunch of people destroying something, whether it be a building, or the town they’re in. Most people however thinking about the causality behind these actions, and in most occasions it’s race driven.
