BEHAVIOURAL MODELS FOR EDUCATION
Pavlov’s Experiment with the Dog
Behavioural Models for Education emphasises the benefits of immediate feedback, whether it’s in the form of a punishment or reward.
Ivan Pavlov was a Russian physiologist who experimented on salivation in dogs when they were offered food. He also noticed that the dog started to salivate when he was brought to that particular room where the food was served. Pavlov devised a theory based on stimulus and response. First, there are certain things that dogs do not have to learn. They are the instinctive reflexes that make them behave in certain ways, for instance, salivating when they see food. INTERNAL QUALITY ASSURANCE OF ASSESSMENT – SETTING THE STANDARDS!
In Education and Training, there are two main concepts of Quality Assurance: Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) and External Quality Assurance (EQA). Internal Quality Assurance ensures that the assessors and teachers make consistent, reliable and valid assessment decisions. External Quality Assurance is carried out through an awarding body to support and help maintain robust IQA systems and processes.
Training provides individuals with an efficient opportunity to learn. Internal Quality assurance (also known as Internal Verification) is integral to any training and assessment program. It provides reassurance to learners that the standards against which they are being assessed, are being adhered to. It also provides reassurance to the awarding body that the standards are being applied rigorously.

MASLOW’S HIERARCHY OF NEEDS FOR LEARNERS
Abraham Maslow
In the mid-1950s, psychologist Abraham Maslow created the famous Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs where he explained that certain needs (in the lower levels of the hierarchy) must be met before a person will try to satisfy higher-level needs. Over the years, this theory has been highly popular in Business management however, it is being increasingly used to motivate learners in the classroom setting. It clearly explains its significant impact on the field of psychology and education.

happiest people I know are dedicated
“The happiest people I know are dedicated to dealing with the most difficult problems.”
When I worked as an Arts & Craft teacher in the year 1997, I was less interested in wanting to become a certain type of teacher and more interested in showing the students their worth and value. I believe that the true purpose of a teacher is to prepare students for the professional, career-oriented world which they will eventually step into.
Teachers offer students new ways of perceiving the world around them. They teach life skills and morals; they teach wise choices, and compassion. So what’s the reason so many new teachers quit the profession or move to a different school? Is it a heavy workload? Low salary? Lack of resources? The demanding nature of the work?

Health & Safety
Once, I was working in a chemical factory, my colleague was standing nearly two feet back to me, he was pouring some hazardous chemicals into a beaker and incidentally, the beaker slipped. Now, you can imagine the consequences.
The most astonishing aspect is that there was no occupational health and safety officer appointed there.
