Introduction
This e-Portfolio is an outline of selected works I have chosen to showcase the themes and topics that were addressed throughout my graduate studies at USF. In order to display the different projects I completed through my academic career; I decided to choose a website design structure that would be easy to follow, accessible and functional. Each of the projects, papers, and assignments I completed in my core classes at USF can be accessed through the main menu. Each menu item opens a new page which contains a description of the information on the topic as well as an image of the indicated work. The completed work can be accessed by clicking on the image which will redirect the reader to the location of the complete file.ย
I believe the courses I completed through the School of Information at USF has adequately prepared me for a career in librarianship. The core classes and electives in the Masters of Library & Information Science (MLIS), focused on developing my skill set and knowledge necessary to enter the field of librarianship or a multiple number of careers paths I may choose as an information professional. From developing a library research proposal, managing a library collection, creating a metadata scheme, discussing ethical issues librarians face, to researching the non-traditional roles of modern librarians; many of the USF MLIS courses I have taken have helped me understand how important the role of an information professional is in the academic, private, and public sector.ย
My desire is to continue developing my skills and stay up to date with changes in the field as well as with trends in technology that can be applied to my career path. I hope to become an academic librarian and I feel the courses I have taken plus my own experiences working in a library has given me a strong foundation on which to achieve my goals in life.ย
