Okay I’m currently furious that migraines are often so blindly easy to treat and I had to find this out myself at the age of 26 when I’ve been to a neurologist since I was 11 lol so I’m about to teach you two neat and fast little tricks to deal with pain!

The first is the sternocleidomastoid muscle, or the SCM muscle.

This big red section is responsible for pain around the eye, cheekbone, and jaw, as well as some temple pain. Literally all you have to do is angle your head down a little, angle it away from the side that hurts, and then you can gently pinch and rub that muscle. I find it best to start at the bottom and travel upwards. The relief is so immediate! You can increase pressure as you feel comfortable doing so.

The second is a fast and easy stretch that soothes your vagus nerve, which is the nerve responsible for calming you down. The vagus nerve, for those unfamiliar, is stimulated by deep breathing such as yawning, sighing, singing, or taking a deep breath to calm your anger in a tense situation.

You can stretch this out by sitting up as straight as possible (this does not have to be perfect to work) and interlacing your fingers. Put your hands on the back of your head with your thumbs going down the sides of your neck and, while keeping your face forward, look all the way to one side with just your eyes. Hold that until you feel the urge to breathe deeply or yawn, or until you can tell there’s a change. Then do the same thing on the other side. When you put your arms down, you should clearly be able to turn your head farther in both directions. If the first session doesn’t get rid of your migraine, rest and repeat as many times as necessary. I even get a little fancy with it and roll my eyes up and down along the outer edge sometimes to stretch as much as I can.

If you need a visual here’s a good video on it. I know some of the language they use seems questionable but this is real and simple science and should not be discarded because it’s been adopted by the trendy wellness crowd!

I seriously cannot believe I didn’t hear a word of this from any doctor in my life. Additionally, if you get frequent recurring migraines, you may want to see a dietician. Migraines can be caused by foods containing histamines, lectin, etc. and can also be caused by high blood pressure in specific situations such as exercise, stress, and even sex.

Academic Rivals to Lovers

To the faculty, he was a ball of boundless potential. To the entire student body, he was an annoying know-it-all whose mouth never shut up, lest he was seconds away from getting caught.

Mr. Dekarios has always been quite the prodigy, or so the talk of the academy says. Showing exceptional wit and charm through his words and spell casting, it was no wonder he quickly gained Mystra’s favor.

So after having been abducted by the nautiloid, and asking help from the stranger on the other side of his portal, what happens when one Gale of Waterdeep looks up to meet the eyes of an old classmate?

More specifically, a classmate that, for some reason, always had a bone pick with him, and only him.

But he supposed he shouldn’t be too surprised. For a wizard’s competition lies in whose ambitions dominate the other.

Thieving about was not a way in which any wizard would’ve chosen to start their careers, and yet there you were.

Well, it wasn’t stealing really if you needed it more, was it?

No one would help you, so you helped yourself. Taught yourself everything there would be to learn about the arcane and more, yet it is still not enough.

And you’ve come to know that it will never be enough.

For he who had everything, and was everything, you ever wanted incarnate, was leagues ahead of you.

In which the amnesiac Bhaalspawn seems to have taken an interest in one Gale of Waterdeep.

However after setting foot into Wyrm’s Crossing and being personally invited by the Archduke Enver Gortash, it would seem that Gale isn’t the first brainiac to have ignited something in the fellow Wizard.

Of Logic and Love

The pragmatic in you had never truly understood any, if not all, the intricacies that came with feeling.

Choosing the company of books and scrolls in your youth, you’ve never cared much for anything.

Never had to think about anyone.

Never had to deal with the ugly and bitter mess that would rend your heart in two if you mulled over someone from time to time.

And falling in love with the one and only Gale of Waterdeep has only made it more difficult.

You will never understand the relationship he once shared with the Mistress of Magic.

You will never understand how he sees you in the relationship you share now.

And you will never understand the depths of his “feelings” for you.

What did the marauders look like by the books?

If anyone can tell me what the marauders were described to look like by the books/ show me specific instances that mention what their features are like, please do so—-

I want to make fanart of them, and it’s sort of hard to search online since no one really mentioned all their features/all the mentioned features.

Moreover, I’d prefer it if you described them without the use of other existing fanart, as I’d like to come up with what their features must look like based only on text and without immediate external comparison :DDD

Also!! I looked some stuff up and some people mention that Remus was described as “pale” in the books. Does that mean “pale” in the modern connotation meaning “light in color” or in the original connotation that just meant “lacking in color”/ sallow/ grey or sickly toned?

S. Snape x reader angst idea

Don’t know if somebody wrote this already but imagine something like—

You know how Harry, and therefore the audience, was essentially lead to believe that Snape despised Harry for being too much like James but was actually caring for and protecting him because of his love for Lily?

Keep that, but add a professor! reader to the mix that, since day one, has treated Harry how a mother or aunt would her own son or nephew. Making people think that it’s because James and/or Lily was a dear friend of hers—or perhaps that she was in love with the pure blood himself— but was actually doing it because she thinks that it’s one of the only ways to comfort Severus— to save him from grieving.

As if by taking care of the boy—guiding him— it would be the only way to keep Lily in their (her husband’s) life.

Idk,—reader having attended Hogwarts alongside Snape, and therefore the Marauders. Throughout the years, she had always been a dear friend to him and has always loved and cared for him in her own way! Aiding him in procuring ingredients, reading with him, encouraging him— (even if it meant supporting his efforts with the girl he actually likes)

Unfortunately, while Snape is aware of the reader’s feelings and has made it clear that he cannot return the sentiment in full, (despite his actions clearly showing otherwise), he is stuck dealing with his own problems + unrequited feelings for Lily.

Something something, reader and Snape get married anyway after Lily and James do, yadda yadda— reader and Snape are still close friends, but their marriage appears more like having the other as a live-in assistant—

Bonus points if reader is either a Slytherin (oh, to watch your housemate pine for another up close) or a Ravenclaw (always the stagehand, never in the spotlight)

Probably never going to write this, but PLEASE tag me if you do!! Not even for credit—I just really want to read this—
