Nomura you beautiful fool of a man. you made Sephiroth's sword canonically able to "lengthen and shorten as needed." You didn't have to do this. You reall didn't. You could have just said "yeah we change the sword's length depending on what works best for the individual game" and left it at that we all would have been like haha that's funny that makes sense but NOOOO instead you've made us all live in a world where Sephiroth makes his sword grow and then penetrates Cloud with it god damn it

I love 'hero living long enough to become the villain', but oughhhh, 'villain living long enough to become the hero' is life altering. Also not just ending in some goddamn sacrifice. They've gotta legit LIVE with those actions. And holy fuck, if they end up caring for someone they previously traumatized and now have to bear being the thing that haunts their nightmares for years? OH, THE ANGST, TAKE ME NOW!!!

could we get more of genesis letting his southern slip 👉👈
*Genesis turns a corner. Zack jumps out wearing a ski mask*
Genesis: Is that supposed to frighten me?
Zack: Well yeah, 'cause every time you get scared, your fancy poet voice turns into a country twang!
Genesis, scoffing: Excuse me? My diction is flawless, my word-usage immaculate, and my accent is a refined blend of theatrical gravitas and Midgardian lilt.
*He turns around. Sephiroth is suddenly right there, silent as death*
Genesis: Sweet mother Minerva, Sephiroth, you goddamn fencepost standin' scarecrow WARN A MAN! Lurkin' there like a apple thievin' barn ghost! I damn near tossed my summon materia and called down Bahamut on your ass!
Sephiroth: Next time, I'll be sure to ring a dinner bell and shout "Yeehaw."
Genesis:

I just gotta ask... what if Sephiroth's metabolism dropped and he gained somewhat of a small dad beer gut
Sephiroth doesn't care. He has a pragmatic view of human bodies as a whole. He knows they change. Weight comes and goes. He's never seen his as something to idolize—just a vessel, something often scrutinized, measured, and used for science since he was a child. If anything, eating what he wants now feels like rebellion. So he has a little softness now? Good.
Though, truthfully, the change, the unfamiliar distribution of weight feels odd. Not bad. Just different. He's so used to consistency. His body has obeyed a strict clock since childhood. Same weight. Same tone. Same rhythms. He recognizes this shift like a soldier noticing a scar that wasn't there yesterday.
#Meanwhile Genesis is having a crisis#having to reckon with just exactly how much he likes the dad bod#it's just so ridiculously unfair (hot)

he gift-wraps self-sacrifice and calls it love; he has never known how to love any other way. he has never given his heart in scraps - it has always been laid bare, whole and beating, on the altar.
and how does one love without an altar? how does one love without bleeding?
call him a martyr or call him a hero, but this kind of love always ends the same. he plants a kiss on the cheek of his love, and then plants his blood in the ground at their feet.
— martyr or hero, he has always been a tragedy // p.s.

A gift art for one of my FF7 toxic yaoi community friends! :P
Genesis braiding Sephiroth’s hair into plaits, lying on his thighs, sipping Banora apple wine, and listening to his hero read LOVELESS—just a perfect night!
