I always forget this eye pair has two different size pupils so it's impossible to position them looking natural but I put them in anyways cause I'm short on smaller iris options.

She has such a serious expression, maybe even frowny. Oh I know, she reminds me of Soom Beryl like this.

Anyway she's a gorgeous somber note on my shelf and the inner grabby hands are happy.

I've been wanting to do a bedroom diorama for a while, but could never find a bed that was the right size and a style I could work with- let alone at a price I could manage... Until Now.

Got an absolutely gorgeous brass bed in from an ebay seller the other day, and, after a little bit of refurbishing the horizontal part, I set it up in a little diorama. Decided that Jae-Seong should get the first photoshoot since its been a while since he got much attention.

BEHOLD! my first ever bjd: a little fella!!

siffrin is a character from In Stars and Time, by @insertdisc5

doll base is Kabbit, by @aelithart, using the Nova head (modified by myself, to have human ears), and Fantasia boots. faceup and eye were done by me.

siffrin's knife was modeled by reddit user InfinitumDividatur- i just scaled it down to doll size, then printed & painted it.

all clothes (except sif's turtleneck) were hand sewn by me! and yes, i did, in fact, use a backstitch on the cloak, to be canon compliant. 😂

no lashes for the blinded eye, since they'd just get squished under the eye patch anyway. but you CAN see a neat little easter egg, here: i made sif's eyes two different shades, to match loop. :3

i finally started to read “Doll Oji” (full title: ドールに沼ったおじさんの話 or basically “The Story of a Middle-Aged Man who Gets Really into* Dolls”) the manga about a salaryman who gets into Super Dollfie-esque BJDs. Only a little, the first two chapters that are free online from the publisher. I’ll get the physical book later to keep reading. It was cute, funny, and surprisingly moving. I haven’t looked into if an English version is available (i was just reading the japanese version, partly for the sake of practice. I could mostly follow it), but it would be nice if one is, since i think it’ll definitely be of interest to BJD collectors worldwide.

*this part is lit. “Swamped In Dolls”, but ‘swamp’ as a verb is like fixated on (as on an interest, fandom, etc) in jp, rather than flooded by many of something like en. (i apologize for my constant impulse to explain vocabulary i think is interesting lmao. i’m genuinely still bad at my target language so it’s partly for my own sake)

The ending of chapter two is so funny. (spoiler)

Poor guy, since he’s totally new to the doll hobby he didn’t realize he had only ordered a head :’D the visual of her calmly smiling packed up head and glazed over big eyes contrasted with his horror just sent me.

he paid a lot for her on Yahoo Auctions after becoming enthralled by her picture so i’m guessing the idea is she was a fairly rare and expensive one-off or something. I look forward to reading the rest! XD

Finally finally finished this sweater today! The ribbing around the bottom held me up because normally I do slip stitches in the back loops for ribs but it was way too tight so I had to rip it out and have a think for a while. Tried single crochets but they were too wide so I ended up doing slip stitch up and single crochets back down for a half and half approach.

Limhwa Luna in the setting sun, had to snap these fast, only let her in direct sun for less than 60seconds.

The colors turned out very bright! It doesn't coordinate with anyone else in the cabinet 😅

I impulse bought a Unoss Seina and I love her SO MUCH!!! I plan to paint her robo-parts still, but I'm so happy with how her new faceup looks so far. Every wig I've tried on her looks good, and she came with her original outfit and accessories which I am actually very into.

Maybe I was just so jealous of @dollsonmain 's recent Unoss acquisition I had to jump on the opportunity to get one too <3 Maybe one day I will get the opportunity to paint one with the original sculpted lashes... B)

So this is my first lace front wig.

I ordered this from AliExpress. And I frankly was impressed, I’ve never received a wig packaged this way before.

It had the stick and styrofoam ball to go with it. Needless to say I kept both.

It’s absolutely gorgeous. My only disappointment was the fact that it lacks the soft waves shown in the listing. I believe it’s a high temperature? I’ll have to double check. It is very soft but still has that synthetic feel, came close to Monique Gold.

Old and new. The old went to Estel but I’m not even sure it suits him. Cutting the excess lace was nerve wracking.

That did not have to go that hard. Wow. I used some “Place me Perfectly “ tape to keep the lace down. And of course after I did that I realized I hadn’t put his eye mechs in yet. Oops.

How Albert’s hair will typically be styled. The hair is actually thicker than I anticipated and actually overflows the hair tie.

And of course where the ball ended up. Funny enough the dowel fit perfectly in the top hole of the mini mannequin.
