Hmmm I don’t remember that! Clarke gets hurt on set and Lexa takes her to the ambulance that can’t reach set. Maybe that’s what you’re thinking of??

so they met on set? had they known of each other before? did they meet through mutual friends?

This is the original headcanon I posted a year ago when I first came up with the idea, detailing their first encounter: 

So…spent the entire day at Universal Studious which obviously means one thing…I have a MAJOR clexa headcannon.

Think:

FSL is the President/CEO of Polaris Studios Inc., Hollywood’s premier film studio (think Universal Studios or Warner Bros, you get the idea) and is way too busy and important to deal with your shit, however, she keeps getting reports from her financial team that this ONE DAMN FILM keeps falling behind schedule and going outrageously over budget so she decides to march her amazing, Armani-clad little ass down to the film lot to rip the producer a new one and find out why the hell he can’t keep the director on schedule WHEN

Enter Clarke Griffin, the film’s beautiful, talented lead who is some parts sweet, some parts sassy, and a lot of parts very sure of herself regardless of how shitty and fake this damn industry is. She’s in it for the craft and because she’s a damn good story teller.

Well you see, little miss Lexa in her three piece suit and piercing green eyes struts onto set to throttle the producer when she stumbles upon the director taking some one on one time with Clarke to go through blocking the scene and this gay ass extra ho literally stops in her tracks and is all since when did this film have such an attractive lead??? and when the producer shyly approaches her like she’s a wild animal she clears her throat and throws up her grumpy glare like a freakin pro. Her oggling a lowly actress? Her the CEO of the world’s premier film studio caught speechless at the sight of a disposable blonde in hollywood? Never

So this producer goes on and on about why they’re over budget and behind and Lexa nods silently with her arms crossed and hip cocked, but she’s still staring at the blonde over his shoulder and when Clarke looks up past the director and spots Lexa Woods the president of Polaris Studios she literally freezes, her hands still in midair from where she had been arguing about character with the director.

Well now EVERYONE notices that Lexa Woods is on set, and the groveling is UNREAL. Lexa absolutely tears into the production crew for the better half of five minutes now that she has everyones attention and then makes a quick escape because she detests the spotlight. She’s as cool and slick as a wet polar bear in front of the cameras and on the red carpet when she needs to be, but the truth is smol gay Lexa Woods grew up with a lot of issues given her traumatic childhood so in general people aren’t really her thing. So she sticks to her big ass office high in the sky in the heart of LA and deals with the insufferable nitwits as little as possible.

Except, of course, for when she suddenly has a reason to visit set every other day to, you know, keep tabs on production oggle clarke griffin, inspect the sound stages and make sure they’re up to code, oggle clarke griffin, talk shop with directors, oggle clarke griffin, you know, all that presidenty boring stuff.

So eventually Clarke and all her smart ass confidence just strolls up to Lexa one day in the commissary (basically the cafeteria on a film lot) and is all “you must like what you see, you’re here an awful lot) and this extra ass hoe Lexa nearly spits out her food and just looks at her like Are you talking to me? Honestly, in what world? Do you think I want to talk to you???

Clarke just sits herself down and starts talking numbers like…like she’s a damn business pro and just “really really admires what you’ve done with the studio’s new budget and artistic endeavors” and Lexa is just fucking floored because this beautiful blonde woman is sitting here talking shop and actually holding her interest because how does this actress know so much about the business side of the business and why is she so unfazed by lexa’s “intimidating” presence? Frankly it’s as much of a turn on as it is unnerving.

Of course, what a coincidence (not really it’s fanfiction there’s no coincidences in fanfiction) later that night Clarke and Lexa end up at the same high end bar in WeHo (west hollywood) and do a little too much flirting and a lotta too much drinking and shit gets bad (so so good) when Lexa asks if Clarke wants to “I don’t know, maybe get outta here?” and Clarke is all like bites her lip and nods, smiling devilishly. They go to Clarke’s place because it’s closer and if the backseat of the towncar has anything to say about it, neither of them were feeling particularly patient.

Clarke wakes up the next morning to an empty bed, no note, no phone call, and not exactly surprised but there’s something heavy in the pit of her stomach and she can’t quite explain it, but she thinks it might have something to do with the fact that Lexa was just a little to gentle, a little to tender after she had finished ravaging clarke with a gusto and ferocity that was new and exciting. She hadn’t even gotten a chance to touch Lexa, the CEO not even bothering to get undressed before eating Clarke out like she hadn’t just spent $233 on dinner and then the CEO was all gentle kisses and whispers to “go to sleep” and that was what did it. It’s one thing to hit it and quit. That Clarke can handle. It’s another thing to hit it, kiss it gently, and then quit it.  Once Clarke’s done shaking and panting and all together trying to come back to earth, Lexa goes to the bathroom. And Clarke didn’t mean to, but she was just so tired…She was asleep before Lexa came out again, and like she said…not entirely surprised that she was alone when she woke up…but not entirely OK with it either. Though, she told herself she most definitely was and if anybody said otherwise she’d deny it fiercely.

For Polis Inc, do you have a general premise for it? Loved the one shot just wondering how they met, what they do. Why did the fireworks set Lexa off? How long were they seeing each other…

I'm sorry this got buried and I'm just now seeing it! I think I have a long written-out premise on here somewhere. I'll see if I can find it.

Lexa doesn't like the fireworks due to some the childhood trauma she experienced. Clarke doesn't know that at the time, though!

It's been so long since I've worked on Polis Inc. that I can't quite remember how long they'd been seeing each other at that point. Probably around 6 months if I had to guess!

I was re reading Polis 433 and I’m on the scene where Lexa feels very insecure over her scarring. As well as Jane adding to those insecurities too. Will the scene that Clarke sees Lexa’s scars and burns be a big moment for them?

It will! Clarke is so very attracted to all of Lexa, inside and out. There is no one more beautiful to her, and it shows so clearly when she’s with Lexa. For Lexa, it’s so healing.

I meant to ask, are you really into bobsledding or watching the sport? How did your idea of the AU come about? Big fan of cool runnings? 😂

Lolol gosh that’s such a good question and I can’t even remember what gave me the idea. I mean, the Winter Olympics was happening and that gave me the idea to write a fic, but I can’t remember why I chose bobsled.

If I had to guess, I think what was compelling to me then is what continues to be compelling to me now, which is that there’s a lot of intimacy to the two-woman bobsled event. You have to be super in-sync in your push start, and you have to be on the same page in the sled. In addition, there’s so much trust that has to be placed in each other when you’re hurtling down an icy track at 90 mph in nothing but a metal can.

So, emotionally and story-wise, it felt ripe for the picking and really well positioned to be the backdrop of an angsty fic…and you know how I feel about angst 😉
