those words alone shatter mafuyu on the inside, rivulets of emotion trickling down her cheeks as miku holds her close. ah. so these are the words she's needed to hear most. it's almost embarrassing to admit such a thing. an instinctive flinch in response to the virtual singer's sleeves brushing against her causes her eyelashes to flutter, her head suddenly feeling fuzzy out of the blue when their eyes open again, they've lost their shine completely.

what is going on .................... ?

shaking, they curl in on themself, fighting the urge to violently push miku aside and run away, to isolate themself from the situation. instead, they gradually relax into her touch, softly humming in contentment. one might even think they've fallen asleep on accident. this is nice ................................ yes, this is good.

" miku ...................... " dull hues blink as mafuyu enters the sekai, her head low as addresses the virtual singer. though there's something off about her tone, like a fractured mirror that's still usable. " i don't know what i should do. " there's pain failing to stay concealed, violets watering and blurring the girl's vision. " i want to make my mother happy, but .......... all i feel is bitterness and fear when she says she's proud of me. like nothing's ever good enough ! i'm terrified, miku. i don't know how to make things right between us .......... "

     a welcoming warmth or a desolate chill , the empty sekai always subtly shifts in tandem to someone's emotions — mafuyu's emotions - better than the way she can pinpoint them in general . miku always waits for her arrival , always hoping there was something in her power to help the girl as best she could . " mafuyu ? " miku's brows furrow in worry , quick to rush to her friend's side . enveloping her into a hug to balance her unease , her presistent anxieties . ' at least .. let me protect her like this — just for now , ' she thought to herself , rubbing at the other's back as she wept .

     " your mother ... mafuyu is strong , i'm sure we'll be able to work something out , where she can understand you one day .. " her anguish gently echoes in the emptiness , " you should focus on surviving - even if it's just today .. " pale hands move from holding her back to her face , wiping away mafuyu's tears with her sleeve .

     " mafuyu ... i'm always by your side . even if it feels like everything's against you , don't forget that .. please ... "

thinking of just ................................................................... how ma.fuyu smiles when she's lying versus her authentic smiles. when she's talking to her mother, or her teachers at school, she has a wide, bright smile, but we all know that isn't her true smile. her true smiles are small and barely there, but we Know those are authentic.

REASONS TO CUP A FACE. ( A PROMPT LIST. )

with the help of some very talented and amazing friends, i present to you an unexpected, very spontaneous meme list based on the beautiful art of cupping someone's face! there's a mix of romantic and platonic here, and even a few that defy the boundaries of normal relationship dynamics! i hope you enjoy! as always; DO NOT ADD TO THIS LIST NOR CLAIM IT AS YOUR OWN!

[KISS]: sender cups the receivers face in their hands before drawing them closer for a kiss.
