What is Pantheon?: The Pantheon is an elusive art heist organisation based out of Europe. They have been active since the early 2000s and have stolen over 1,8 Billion Euros (~2 Billion USD) worth of art and artefacts worldwide. Their most well-known heist was when they successfully stole Caravaggio's "Death of a Virgin" and Géricault's "Raft of Medusa" during a charity gala hosted at the Louvre. Pantheon gained its name due to its calling cards. Each member seems to use the name of a Roman deity as their cover. Based on mythology and how the heist works, it's assumed that the names used by the thieves correlate to their importance/job within the group (e.g. the one called “Jupiter” seems to be the mastermind behind it all). The group has been under investigation for almost five years and it’s led by FBI agent, Diana Alvarez. This case is one of Diana’s very first, she started it as an overconfident rookie who spent far too many sleepless nights going over the fateful night at the Louvre. Though she’s been led on countless wild goose chases by the group, she believes she might be getting closer to getting these thieves behind bars and the art they’ve stolen back on museum walls. Alvarez and Ramirez Investigations: Javier Ramirez and Diana Alvarez were the two lead agents in the Pantheon case, Alvarez being Ramirez’s successor. Ramirez was there from the beginning in May of 2006, being the agent who took on the case of the stolen “Portrait D’une Dame”. Javier was determined, it was his final case before he retired in 2008 after sustaining an injury on the field. He then made Diana the lead agent. Diana Alvarez is an FBI Special Agent in their art theft division. She is a well-respected agent and in her three-year career at the FBI has successfully been able to stop illegal art trades. She began in 2007 after she graduated from college with a master's degree in criminal justice. Alvarez was placed under Ramirez’s unit as her first assignment and the pair worked together well, leading to their co-leading in the Pantheon case. After Javier retired, Diana was been working tirelessly to stop Pantheon and she has done a lot of work over the past year. Though she is nowhere close to getting to the bottom of it, it runs a lot deeper than she realizes.
