Statement
For this module, we have been asked to develop and build a portfolio, tailored to the field of our own choosing, be it; Fashion, Landscape, Street or Portrait. I chose to create a portfolio suited towards Art Photography. My portfolio contains 18 A3 prints of various portraits and nature images compiled of snapshots, which I have incorporated my personal influences, particularly cinematographic. I chose the images I thought captured my personal style best, how I captured the light and made use of experimental techniques (as little as there might be). In the future, using the portfolio, I will present it at any open submissions, contests, or reviewing sessions that will have interest to me, as well as presenting it at interviews if it sees fit. When developing this portfolio, I only treaded water when experimenting, only because I did not have more time & resources to do so. However, I will continue to experiment with various techniques, making use out of them in my work in the future.

As I have never really thought of doing anything with self-portraits, I decided to tread the water a little bit, experiment some more with different styles, etc..
The first two images I shot were aimed at a window, to show a ‘double image’, much like multiple exposures; and even more so with the use of my multi-faceted filter.

Guest Speker - Anthony Luvera 8/3/2017
Anthony Luvera is an Australian photographer and artist based in London, whose work is based around collaboration and participation; as shown in his series’, Photographs & Assisted Self-Portraits (2002-ongoing) and Residency (2006-11), where he worked with the homeless community in Bristol, and Belfast.
In his work, Luvera also explores the tensions between artistic control and the ethics of documenting someone else’s life. This lead to Luvera involving his subjects; teaching them how to use a 5x4 large format camera, as well as giving them disposable cameras for them to use fit, and as they are the ones taking the image, each subject is an active participant and co-creator.
