Today On Writing ‘Whispers of Wynn’
Decided to do a series on this blog where I post screenshots of the outlines for our AO3 story “Whispers of Wynn”. These are usually made by @dontstareatgorgons and are crack in it of themselves. This one is for chapter one: “I’m Nobody, who are you?” also known as “Oh fuck, I guess we’ve made a party.” This one isn’t that funny, but they get better I promise. Screenshot of outline is under the cut in case people don’t want to see it.

Can you do a part 2 to the Henrik and Jameson neglect story? Maybe with him finding the guy who threatened him or telling one of his brothers whats going on?
(You know what? I don’t write the Septics od watch Jack anymore but fuck it, I’m feelin’ funky tonight and may as well give the boys another try. Plus, I just re-read it and the story made me sad, so let’s fix that.)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
three weeks.
It’s been... three weeks.
Not a word spoken to JJ, not a glance thrown his way.
Schneep had received more photos. Pictures taken through windows. Whoever this stalker is, they must be taking tips from Anti. It seems like they’re always watching.
“What did I do?” JJ signs, day after day.
Schneep doesn’t reply.
“What did I do?” JJ says with his slides.
Schneep pretends he doesn’t see it.
Marvin has taken over any and all of JJ’s medical care. Schneep didn’t ask him to. After that first incident... Marvin took it into his own hands.
... Schneep’s never felt so low in his life.
And the pictures are gleeful. Shots of him crying in his room (he’s since left the curtains shut at all times), shots of him ignoring a bleeding and sometimes sobbing JJ, shots of him just... just...
...
Jackie knocks on his door.
“Henrik?”
Schneep quickly wipes his eyes. If Jackie is using his first name, that means a very serious talk is about to take place. He needs to pretend as best he can.
“Yes?”
Jackie enters the room.
“Henrik, what the hell is going on with you and JJ?”
“What do you mean?”
“You know what I mean. You’ve been ignoring him for weeks. You’re acting like he doesn’t fuckin’ exist.”
Schneep shrugs.
“Don’t srug it off, what’s wrong with you?! He’s a wreck! He thinks he did something wrong, and he’s blaming himself!”
Schneep feels tears spring into his eyes. “I have nothing to say.”
Jackie is incredulous. “Nothing to say? Fucking nothing to say?! What’s going on with you?!”
“I need to get back to work.”
“No, you need to-”
“I! Need! To! Work!”
Jackie stares.
“... Is it Anti?” he asks quietly.
Schneep scoffs. “I am not doing the glitching, am I?”
Jackie doesn’t look convinced. “Something’s not right with you.”
“Yes, it is you interrupting me. Shoo! Shoo!”
Schneep stands up, pushing, pushing!, Jackie out of the room.
He slams the door shut.
Jackie takes a moment to process what just happened.
... Because what the fuck just happened?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
JJ cradles his photo album as he sits on his bed.
What happened? He and Schneep were close. Why did it all just... vanish?
He wipes his eyes, and shakes his head. He needs fresh air. Maybe that will help. Right? Maybe a nice breath of fresh air will give him some clarity, some clue as to what he did wrong...
He goes over to his window, opens it wide as possible, and leans out.
The bushes below rustle frantically.
“Jumping junipers!”
JJ startles away from the window, and then looks out again.
The bushes are still.
... Perhaps it was some kind of wild animal?
He leans out further, trying to get a better look-
...
Is that...
His eyes widen.
He rushes out of his room, bumping into an angry and perplexed Jackie.
“I think there was someone watching me from the bushes!”
“Was it Anti?” Jackie immediately jumps to.
“I don’t think so! But I think their clothes ripped, I swear I’ve seen a piece of fabric in the bushes just after receiving a terrible fright!”
“Show me!”
JJ leads Jackie outside, and points out the bush.
Jackie crawls under, and...
Yes, there it is. A bit of bright-red fabric. Sock material, it looks like.
He scowls. “JJ, you’re sleeping in Marvin’s room tonight.”
JJ nods, and quickly head back into the house, no longer feeling safe.
Jackie gets out from under the bush.
He hates when he has to do lookouts over their house. It’s been months, no sign of Anti, and he’d started to hope those days of fear and vigilance could truly be put behind him.
Apparently not.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Jackie crouches at the top of a tree, eyes on the house.
He’s been like this for hours. He’ll be like this for hours more. It’s well into the night, and though his eyes ache, he’s trained himself to be able to keep watch for a full twenty-four hours if need be.
Every little shape, every shadow, ever sound, it’s all potential danger to his family. It keeps the blood pumping, keeps his heart racing.
And then he sees it.
It’s dark out, so it’s little more than a shadow. But it’s not an animal, he can tell that much. Animals don’t wear baseball caps.
He quietly slips through the trees, getting closer.
The shadow moves quickly. Practiced. Jackie’s blood runs cold, and his temper flares.
How long has this person been stalking them? And why?
He keeps following, ready to drop-
... They’re... going right past JJ’s room, now.
He thought they’d take more pictures than that. That was, what, two? They’d set up a dummy JJ in there, it looks like JJ is asleep in his bed, so why...
...
They’ve got an envelope...
...
Schneep’s room?
He watches them take out some kind of flat... something, and slowly, carefully, wedge Schneep’s window open just enough that they can slip the envelope through.
Jackie’s heart drops.
He climbs out of the tree, and grabs the person by the back of their shirt, yanking them away from the window as harshly as he can.
They yelp.
Schneep’s light comes on.
“Who the fuck are you?!” Jackie barks.
Schneep opens his window, and his eyes go wide.
“Answer me!” Jackie demands.
Marvin’s light goes on as well, and JJ’s head pops out of the window. His hands fly up to his mouth, and he rushes to Schneep’s room. Marvin and Chase follwo right behind.
“Let go of me!” the person says. “I’m fucking armed!”
“With what? This?” Marvin holds up a gun.
The person’s face falls with fear.
“Thought so.”
“Chase, what’s in the envelope?” Jackie says, not taking his eyes off of the stalker.
Chase rips it open, and his eyes widen in horror. JJ takes a step back. Schneep is near tears.
Photos. Photos of Schneep sobbing, of JJ sobbing, JJ begging Schneep to speak to him...
“Is this why?” JJ signs, hands trembling.
Jackie is livid. “Why?” he growls.
The person looks at him, and realizes there’s no way out of this.
“Your hack of a brother killed mine,” the person says, spitting as they speak. “My brother trusted this idiot to save his life, and he died! So-”
“So if you couldn’t talk to your brother, Schneep couldn’t talk to his?” Chase interrupts, digging through Schneep’s desk. He waves a little piece of paper, angry words scribbled in it’s lines. “Good evidence collecting, bro.”
“What kind of sick, twisted logic is that?” Marvin says, snarling.
“It’s justice!” the person snaps.
“No, it isn’t,” Jackie says coldly. “But you’re sure as fuck going to find that out soon.”
“What does that-”
“Marv, knock him out.”
Blue and green magic shoots into the person’s skull, and they’re out like a light.
“You-” Jackie says, pointing at Schneep, “-should have fuckin’ told us what was going on.”
“I could not risk,” Schneep says, wiping his eyes. “Not JJ. He is out so often, and I could not warn him what to watch out for without knowing who this was...”
JJ cuts Schneep off by wrapping him in a hug.
“You thought you were protecting me, and I can hold no ill will against you for that. I’m just glad to know it wasn’t animosity, or something I-”
“You are my brother,” Schneep says, hugging JJ back tightly, “I would never wish to hurt you or let you be hurt! I am sorry, for all of these last weeks.”
“I accept.”
The hug lasts a long time.
They’re both just glad to have each other back.

Blackmail and neglect?
(Lots of angst, minor blood mention! Repeat: ANGST! Neglect breeds only ANGST!)
Schneep had made some enemies in the past. He had lost patients and their families had sworn revenge, he’d saved lives of those who went on to use their extra time they’d been given to ruin the lives of others, and his sometimes less-than-gentle-spoken nature had made many people dislike and even hate him.
His enemies had always tried to get back at him in the same ways. They tried to get him fired, or beat him up, even kill him. But his brothers were always there to help him. His family was the thing he cared the most about in the world, and they cared about him.
That’s why his blood had run cold and his heart had skipped with fear when he saw the pictures. Photos of JJ were neatly arranged on his desk, each one taken from a place where JJ couldn’t see the photographer. JJ buying groceries, JJ walking in the park, JJ walking through the door into their home.
‘If you care for your family as much as you claim to, you’ll stop speaking to this one. My brother died on your operating table, and I can never speak to him again. Now, you can’t either.’
The note had been scrawled hastily on a price of printer paper, the letters too big and jagged, anger clearly having made the writer’s hands unsteady. Schneep backed away from the desk and covered his mouth. Not JJ. Not his youngest brother.
“Oh, welcome home Doctor! How was your day?”
JJ smiled at Schneep, expecting the usual grumble in response as the doctor went to make coffee. His smiled faded when Schneep completely ignored him, heading straight to the lab. ‘Oh dear, his day must have been quite unpleasant. I shall make his coffee for him, perhaps that will cheer him up!’
JJ did just that, making a whole new pot with Schneep’s absolute favorite coffee. He walked to the lab, being careful not to spill. He eased the door open and brought it to the desk where Schneep sat, absorbed in paperwork. “I made you some coffee, Doctor.”
Schneep didn’t say anything. He didn’t even look at JJ. ‘Oh heavens, it’s worse than I thought!’
“I can see that you’ve had a bad day. Shall I leave the coffee with you and…give you some space?”
Again, Schneep didn’t acknowledge that JJ had said anything. JJ set the mug down and left the room, worried. What could have happened to put Schneep in such a foul mood?
Schneep hadn’t spoken to JJ in three days.
No good mornings, no hellos, he barely even looked at him.
‘Have I done something wrong? Have I offended him somehow?’
He wanted to ask, but he feared it would only make the doctor more upset. Because he was upset. It was obvious to everyone, no matter how much he denied that anything was wrong.
He still spoke to Jackie and Chase and Marvin. He only ignored JJ.
It hurt.
JJ was pulled out of his thoughts by a different kind of pain. He hissed, dropping the shard of glass from the broken cup he’d been cleaning up. He closed his fist on instinct, clasping his other hand around it. His fingers immediately felt warm and sticky.
He forced his hand to open and peeked. One quick glance told him that he absolutely had to see Schneep about it. Dread filled him and settled in the pit of his stomach, but he still got up to go to the lab.
Schneep didn’t look up at the door. JJ gulped. “I-I’m sorry to be a bother, Doctor, but I’m afraid that I’ve gotten myself a nasty cut.”
Schneep paused, the most he’d reacted to JJ in days. The youngest ego took that as a good sing and continued. “If you aren’t too busy, may I ask for some help in taking care of it?”
Schneep clenched his jaw and didn’t say anything. JJ looked at his hand. Blood had begun to seep between the fingers of his fist and drip on the ground. The sight made him nauseous.
“I’m terribly sorry to be a bother. I-I think if you would point me to the bandages, I can take care of it myself.” He was lying, and it was as blatant a lie as could be, but he wasn’t sure what else to say.
Schneep squeezed his eyes shut, and murmured something to himself. But still he ignored his brother.
“Hey Schneep? I can’t find my disco themed mask and I just got a gig at a disco-themed bar, have you seen-OH MY GOD!”
Marvin snatched JJ’s hand into his own and immediately preformed a healing spell, speaking as quickly as he could to encourage his magic to work faster. JJ opened his hand, and watched the green and blue vapors swirl around the cut and stop most of the bleeding. Healing spells weren’t Marvin’s specialty, but it was better than nothing.
Marvin sighed, relieved when the bleeding stopped. He snapped his head up and glared at Schneep. “Why weren’t you helping? He was just standing here bleeding all over the floor, why didn’t you do anything?”
“I am busy,” Schneep said, sounding choked. He didn’t meet Marvin’s eyes when he looked at him. “What did you need? Your disco mask?”
“Forget the mask!” Marvin growled. “You’ve been neglecting JJ for days and it’s not okay! What’s the issue?”
Schneep grit his teeth, but his eyes looked more distressed than angry. “No issue.”
Marvin scowled. “When you feel like not being a dick, let me know. Come on JJ, I can bandage this up for you.” He lead JJ to the back room, glaring at Schneep the whole time.
Schneep kept his back to them. He let out a shuddery breath, and a tear rolled down his cheek.
He still didn’t know who sent the photos, but whoever they were they must have been elated.

Reading Buddies
Jameson set his book down and sighed. He hated being home alone, and he hated being home alone while it was silent even more. Chase had gone out to talk to the electric company about getting their power back on, and until then Jameson’s only background noise was normally unnoticeable creaking of the house.
His clip-on reading light flickered. “Oh, please no,” he muttered. The reading light flickered again, and died.
When they had power, the house was very well lit. Without it, shadows ruled. He could barely see his book anymore. He huffed, clenched his jaw, and got up.
He checked the junk drawer, as Chase called it, where the batteries were usually kept. Nothing. At least, nothing but a note. The note simply read, “Out of batteries. Sorry.”
“Oh… humbug.” He pushed the drawer closed with a tad bit more force than necessary. ‘Maybe Jackie has some in his room.’
He opened the door. The only light in the room came from a single window just opposite the door. It was a big window, granted, but not nearly big enough to make the room any more than dim. In the corner, on a dark blue doggy bed, Roast was snoozing and make little noises in his sleep.
Jameson was careful not to wake the little puppy as he searched. He opened one drawer, and then another, and another, and kept going until he had opened every drawer and looked under every sheet of paper or discarded item of clothing. Nothing.
He put his hands on his hips and frowned. He wiggled his mustache thoughtfully. Who else would have batteries?
He heard a small whine, and turned around to find that Roast was waking up. The puppy yawned, looked at Jameson, and started wagging his tail. Roast jumped out of his bed and ran over. He jumped up, putting hi front paws on Jameson’s leg.
“Well, good afternoon! Did you have a good nap?”
Roast couldn’t read the speech slide, of course, but he yapped happily anyway. Jameson suspected it was similar to how the others knew what tone he was using despite not being able to hear it. His own personal kind of magic. He knelt down and scratched behind Roast’s little floppy ears. “Do you happen to know where I might find some batteries?”
Roast liked his hand. “Hmm, I thought not. Let’s go searching together, shall we?”
Roast followed him out of the room and over to Chase’s. None, shockingly. Nor were there any in Schneep’s room. Jameson went to check Marvin’s.
Snappers looked up as soon as the door opened. She stared at Jameson from her little tower in the corner of the room. Jameson went through the drawers, the little dragon’s watchful eye on him the whole time. Well, most of the time. Eventually she noticed Roast and flew down to greet her furry friend.
Jameson gave up his search. He threw his hands in the air and plopped down in Marvin’s desk chair. He watched Snappers and Roast wrestle for a bit. Snappers flew up just enough that Roast couldn’t reach her. The puppy jumped up over and over, growing more and more excited with each leap, yapping non-stop. Snappers looked as amused as could be. She let her tail down, then brought it back up just before Roast’s jaws could close around it.
It would have been fine even if he did bite her. Puppy teeth could hardly do anything to dragon scales.
“Well, where haven’t I looked yet?” Jameson asked. Snappers turned her head towards him. Roast caught hold of her tail and there he stayed, dangling just above the ground, looking very proud of himself.
“Hmm… do you think the lab might have any?”
Snappers blinked at him and gave a small roar.
“I’ll take that as a yes. Must be worth a shot, really!”
He got up. Snappers lowered Roast back down to the ground, and after shaking her tail a bit, convinced him to release her. She flew up to Jameson’s shoulder and sat down.
“Ah, a new companion for our adventure!“ Jameson smiled as Snappers rubbed her face against his cheek. He and his two little friends set off for the lab.
The lab had a backup generator, of course. Marvin had enchanted it so that it always functioned, no matter what. Only something truly extreme could take it out, and while bills could be stressful, a late payment didn’t count.
Azure was running on her wheel in her habitat. Schneep refused to call it a cage, shivered when the word was brought up and got a haunted look in his eye, and that was all it took for his brother’s to resolve to never refer to it as a cage either. Besides, it was too nice for that word. It was more like a mouse palace.
“Hello there Azure. Do you know where our dear doctor might keep the batteries?”
Azure kept running.
“I see, busy with your exercise! I shan’t interrupt.” He looked around. Nothing. Then he smacked his forehead with his palm. “Oh, dear me! Here I am, looking for a way to power my small light, when the room has light of it’s own! I do believe that scatterbrain runs in the family, or perhaps Chase has been rubbing off on me more than I realized.” He laughed to himself and shook his head.
“Let’s see… how do I do this again?” he mused out loud. He hadn’t used his… “summoning” ability since the day of his birth. He sat at Schneep’s desk and imagined a hand, holding his book.
It took a minute of concentration, but a hand rose up from beside him and gave him his book. He waved at it as it sank, vanishing. Roast barked at where it had been, sniffing the ground with all the intensity his tiny form could muster. Snappers just tilted her head. She’s seen things far more odd than that.
Azure got off her wheel and scurried to the wall of her habitat closest to Jameson. Snappers flew over and lowered her tail into it. She wrapped it around Azure and lifted the mouse out, gently placing her on the desk top. Then she lifted Roast up, earning a surprised yelp, and placed him in Jameson’s lap.
She settled back on Jameson’s shoulder and pointed at the book with her head.
“Do you want me to read it too you?” Jameson asked. Snappers made a purring noise. “Well, if you insist. Let’s see, where was I? Ah, yes. The Death of Rats rounded up the last of his clients, many of whom had been in the thatch, and lead the way through the flames toward wherever it was that good rats went. He was surprised…”
The animals all payed close attention. Perhaps they couldn’t read the slides, but they could sense the way this made Jameson happy, and they were more than glad to contribute to that.

Whumpee finally gets away from whumper and quickly realizes that they know where they are. So, beaten and dazed, they begin limping towards caretaker’s home. It’s a long walk through the dark, but they finally make it to the front door. Whumpee gets inside using a key under the door mat.
But caretaker doesn’t know who it is, and thinks that someone is breaking into their house. They grab a baseball bat before quietly making their way to the front room of their house.
Caretaker suddenly emerges from around the corner with the bat raised, my to the surprise and terror of whumpee, who collapses to the ground and presses themselves into the corner. They start frantically apologizing, saying ‘I’ll be good!’ or ‘I’ll behave I swear!’
Caretaker immediately drops the bat to the ground and runs to them, only scaring whumpee more until they begin speaking softly to them despite the tears in their eyes.
Whumpee eventually relaxes and lets them approach, where caretaker engulfs them in a tight hug. The injured figure doesn’t care about their wounds, they’re too touch-starved at the moment to do anything other than hug them back and start sobbing.
Caretaker shushes them and apologizes constantly for scaring them. They tell them how happy they are to see whumpee, and they they’ve been looking for weeks.
But whumpee is too exhausted to hear them anymore. All they know is that they’re finally safe, and pass out in the safely of caretaker’s arms.

Can we get some of the septics going out for a fancy dinner or something so they're all dressed up? Bonus if they haven't done so in a while and are impressed with themselves.
“Golly, if you lot always dressed as smartly as I do, perhaps we would be taken more seriously as a group of upstanding citizens!” Jameson remarked, only half joking.
“Black tie is so stuffy and tight, I hate it,” Jackieboy grumbled, twisting and fidgeting in his barely-worn dinner jacket.
“I dunno, bro, I think it suits you,” Chase quipped, grinning as he dodged the tie Jackie flung at him.

Im so hyped for this.
Revived AU
It’s your girl, back here again with yet another AU concept after just making one!
My Mafia AU is Schneeplebro’s angst fest, SO NOW IT’S MARVELSEPTICEYE’S TURN. :D (You can thank that ask from earlier today)
.
Jackieboy goes out on a mission one evening and believes it to be a simple situation that he’s handled countless times before. When he gets to the location, however, there is no external peril, and he when he investigates, he is ambushed.
Jackie wakes up suddenly, but he is not the same as he used to be. He is covered in red stitches and is always cold, dizzy and in pain, having absolutely no memories other than his name, and the fact he knows he’s safe with Marvin.
When he opens his eyes, he finds himself in a pleasant house far into the countryside and sees Marvin tearfully smile. He finds that when he’s near him, his pain and headaches go away, and soon relies on his comfort.
Marvin is incredibly protective and shelters him to the point where he does not let him answer the front door. He doesn’t do this in a possessive manner and isn’t looking to be controlling, in fact, he seems to be rather… desperate to protect him. If Jackie even gets a papercut, Marvin gets noticeably distressed but tries to hide it.
Jackie usually spends his time in the garden to plant flowers or care for their chickens, enjoying what - on the surface - was a cottagecore life. He finds joy in simple activities and gains new memories and is, at first, oblivious to whatever happened before.
Marvin and Jackie are both loving and maintain a healthy relationship together, despite the sheltering. Every morning, Marvin wakes up and looks over to the window. If he sees sunlight, he relaxes, and they spend the day together, but sometimes the sky is jet black. On those days, Jackie is strictly advised to stay inside, and Marvin is away until the night sky reappears. He soon notices that he’s always exhausted on those days, and usually stays in bed.
Marvin begins to introduce new things to Jackie. He seems to be attempting to return everything back to normal, by cooking his favourite foods, showing him comics and giving him a blue superhero mask.
However, as he does this, Jackie starts to experience flashes of memories. He sees an image of Marvin flicker in his mind, wearing a white mask instead of the black one he was used to, and without the scar on his neck.
As Jackie starts remembering more, he becomes more distressed and often walks out of the house while Marvin is away, but then wakes up in bed without any memory of what happened and intense pain in his stitches.
Then, someone comes to the door while Marvin is out, and Jackie swears he’s heard their voice before.
