i think it's funny when people say "yeah the writers use they/them for this character but that doesn't necessarily mean the character is nonbinary" because i guess it's true but by that logic i can say "yeah this character is referred to with he/him but they never say he's a man so i can do whatever i want" which i may actually start doing because it sounds based as fuck. if you want me to believe that action hero is a man maybe you should've been more direct about it smh.

tumblr's reblogging system is great because it's on the same level as the original post.
twitteralikes have the reply (easily hidden and ignored) and the quote retweet (looking down, mainly used for "look at this idiot's bad take").
but a reblog with-text is on the same level. It's perfect for "yes-and"ing a bit. this no doubt helps explain why tumblr is such a meme creation powerhouse.
twitter and bluesky have Funny Guys who post a funny post (and sure, tumblr has those too), but tumblr has collaborative humor.

Remember how "many such cases" originated in a Trump tweet about vaccines causing autism?
What if we started discourse about whether only vaccinated autistic people can reclaim "many such cases?" Just to make the internet worse. Wouldn't that be fucked up?

I like your linguistics posting a lot but a lot of your other stuff is insanely inane*. one week I followed you you had like 100 posts posting a variation on P3N1S or something like that (*not your brain thing, sorry to hear about that)
Wow sounds like you're weak to my powerful posts. Trying buying a "defense up" from the Pokemart

This is a pretty dumb comparison because the law pretty explicitly mentions Christians? Like, look, here's the full text. The word "clergy" is in the title.
Tumblr media
And this is how it defines the clergy:
"Member of the clergy" means any regularly licensed, accredited, or ordained minister, priest, rabbi, imam, elder, or similarly situated religious or spiritual leader of any church, religious denomination, religious body, spiritual community, or sect, or person performing official duties that are recognized as the duties of a member of the clergy under the discipline, tenets, doctrine, or custom of the person's church, religious denomination, religious body, spiritual community, or sect, whether acting in an individual capacity or as an employee, agent, or official of any public or private organization or institution
Like yes it doesn't actually use the word "Christian", but in the same way that "rabbi" means it's intended to affect Jewish leaders, "minister" and "priest" obviously means it's intended to affect Christian ministers. Yes, other faiths use the word "priest", but I think most people in Washington would think of the Christian ones first, and I don't even know if other religions use "minister" or not. And yes, a lot of other professions are implicated:
When any member of the clergy, practitioner, county coroner or medical examiner, law enforcement officer, professional school personnel, registered or licensed nurse, social service counselor, psychologist, pharmacist, employee of the department of children, youth, and families, licensed or certified child care providers or their employees, employee of the department of social and health services, juvenile probation officer, diversion unit staff, placement and liaison specialist, responsible living skills program staff, HOPE center staff, state family and children's ombuds or any volunteer in the ombuds' office, or host home program has reasonable cause to believe that a child has suffered abuse or neglect, he or she shall report such incident, or cause a report to be made, to the proper law enforcement agency or to the department as provided in RCW 26.44.040.
But given the title, and how the bill's supporters talked about it, it's clearly primarily intended to include the clergy, and especially Christian ones. And like, I'm not saying that's a bad thing! Just let's get our facts straight here.
So Trump's DOJ is suing the state of Washington because WA's new mandated reporting law says that clergy (among many other professions) are legally obligated to report ongoing child abuse if they know about it. And the Christofascists in the Trump regime call that "anti-catholic"

And all I can think of is this iconic post
