ringing in 46 years on earth by experiencing my first ice storm. more of strange tinkling/crackling sounds then ringing. i like creating an annual piece for this day to commemorate change. this one unexpectedly ended up being this years. it’s from a drawing i made in 2013. i started working on it as a break from the piece i was originally creating and it ended up becoming the finished one. 😌❤️ 10 years later. https://www.instagram.com/p/Co_8kBFuRne/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

it feels obvious to say, but i’ve been struggling with adjusting. generally of the understandable sort of unpacking mentally now that unpacking physically is finally done. a lot was pushed far down and inaccessible to be able to make it here. i’m sorry i’ve been absent and late once again in fulfilling obligations. i’m working on fixing that. i haven’t created since before everything. uncertain i’d be able to i asked hodge for what i should try to make. in the spirit of the year of the rabbit, this was chosen as the first attempt of 2023. it’s levitating a bit, but i’m happy with it. i miss, love and hope all are well. i hope to return to sharing more soon. ❤️ https://www.instagram.com/p/CoreREDu63y/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Lavender is a 4” tall mixed media gourd fairy. They shimmer, yet are so demure. Long ago Lavender accidentally stumbled into a Neiman Marcus during a holiday sale and was mistaken for an exclusive, one of a kind couture brooch. The leaf bug fairy is closely related to the Southern Nevada June Bug that only shows up in April and October. Markedly, this fae choses winter as its preferred arrival time. It could be for wanting to stand out from the scenery or it could just be from it extremely lacking in camouflage skills. It’s lovely either way. please excuse my delays in posting and replies! it’s a blur here right now trying to figure out moving cross country in a week. 🙃 Hodge went to sleep late last night and then woke before i got a chance to rest, so we’re both a bit delirious right now too. i hadn’t realized i didn’t post the finished art! without further ado here’s the first: (maybe a little ado) Take care in those random moments you find yourself wearing antique lace whilst walking in a forest. Odd creatures such as this may conceal themselves to stowaway in your chic vintage look. personal piece for a friend Horace went for a walk in the forest one fine early morning. By midday he felt sleepy and decided to take a nap on a rather suspicious, conveniently placed stump. When he woke he found he’d been transformed into an odd buffalo, puppy, horned gourd looking creature.
