Online games are video games that were played through the internet (online) or any other computer network available. These online games are often present on modern gaming platforms like PCs, consoles, and mobile devices, and has a wide span of genres, including first-person shooters, strategy games, and massively multiplayer role-playing games. Some of the most popular online games in the Philippines this year and the past years are Roblox, Mobile Legends, Genshin Impact, Dota 2, League of Legends, Valorant, Fortnite, and many more. A recent statistics showed that 95.8 per cent of internet users between the ages of 16 to 64 played video games. These numbers make the Philippines the number one country in the world when it comes to the sheer number of gamers. Me personally I enjoy playing online games and there's been a time that I've been addicted to it to the point that I almost spend the whole day playing online. Then I realized that it is not healthy for me physically and mentally so I stop playing online games for a time being to get rid of the addiction and now I am able to manage my time playing online games.

As we all know, all things in this world has an advantage and disadvantage so are online games. Some of the advantages of online games are: First, it os a great source to develop early learning skills for children, it helps in enhancing memory,brain speed, and concentration, it also build skills for future careers and the most important advantage for me is the benefit of multiplayer games when it comes to socializing skills. Disadvantages of online games manifests when you spend too much time playing online games. Immoderate playing of online games can lead to unproductivity, poor health both physically and mentally, and it might limit your academic progress. Always remember that it is always important to find things or hobbies that entertain us and provide happiness to us but always discipline yourself and do your priorities and responsibilities first.
