✧﹒Before mutation, Eksitaja was a heavy-built 6'2 man with fiery red hair and brown eyes, but post mutation, his form has taken inspiration from both dobsonflies and some kinds of electric fish. He maintains a roughly humanoid figure with obvious insectoid distortions, sharp and long mandibles protruding from the sides of his mouth.

He possesses longer legs with barbed backs that imitate dobsonflies, and can do some serious damage if required to, and his mandibles are able to propogate limited electricty between the points. A thick carapace lines his back as a protection mechanism, and extra eyes are dotted around his main eyes, several of which provide extended vision alongside. Reference is incoming as I continue to build his model and this information is subject to change/updates.

Floral designs on his arms coupled with intertwined vines. They're incredibly faded and difficult to see underneath the mutations and scarring.

Several slashes on his face from a couple of earlier fights he'd involved himself in after unsuccessful stealthing. His face is lined with burn scars and so is the rest of his exposed skin from wounds healing themselves through the typical high temperatures of C.

A SOLITARY INDIVIDUAL, Eksitaja in his human form tended to often keep to himself, preferring his own company over others. This was a big component behind why he tended to almost live offgrid indefinitely, exploring and making his own maps here and there, often finding large amounts of people overwhelming. As a J'avo, he still tends to largely keep to himself, but is incredibly skilled when working together in a team thanks to his communication and sensing abilities, and works in coordination with the rest of the other J'avo he happens to encounter.

SERIOUS AND FOCUSED, Eksitaja tends to be laser-focused on whatever he decides to take up until it's done. Survival is only done if you know how to make it through yourself, so in conjunction with his wilderness skills and significant time spent in that environment, there's not much room for messing around, and that determination can cause him to come across as incredibly standoffish at times, but he possesses a strong respect towards competency.

KNOWLEDGEABLE, Eksitaja used to have a strong interest in identifying various kinds of flora and fauna, hunting, and also in navigation through various methods. He still possesses the knowledge, and has since recently began studying the intricacies of modern technology to a greater extent as of late, in order to use and manipulate it more efficiently. When he sets his mind to learning something, he typically doesn't let up until he has some hang of it.

history/backstory :

A name in reference to an evil spirit who causes others to lose their sense of direction, Eksitaja wasn't always reminiscent of his namesake.

Born Dónal McCarthy in Dublin , Ireland , it wasn't long before Dónal moved to New Zealand along with the rest of his family — one that could only be described as adventurous . From a young age , he was taken on tramps and hikes according to his age and experience , and it instilled a love for the wild in him pretty quickly. Throughout teenagerhood , he constantly went away from home to explore the woods and surrounding bush, and constantly exposed himself to the elements of nature and quickly learned how to handle himself in those environments — and after years of recreational canyoning and bush-bashing offtrack , he learned how to instruct said activities, and did so for a decent amount of time .

His skills landed him a solid spot on the local Search and Rescue team, and he spent a long several years with them working as a technical expert in canyons and all types of rough terrain, and soon nature grew as much of a home for him as his own physical house . Long hours were spent camping at night in hammocks / bivvies and even one-person tents, and he found he often favoured the solace of the bush over the business of the towns .

He resided in the U.S for a brief amount of time upon turning thirty , and as soon as a survivalist opening within USSTRATCOM was opened , Dónal wasted very little time in applying for the position .

Thanks to his experience in rough terrain and mountainous regions , he was accepted readily and became one of their primary survival && recovery experts, and was often utilized for his uncanny skill in navigating dense flora even with a hiking pack on with ease. This also involved him becoming a prime pick for intelligence and recovery operations in dense bush , primarily overseas as a solo operative , and when bush wasn't incredibly known or traversal was difficult without extensive navigation knowledge .

Combat isn't his specialty and he doesn't particularly go out of their way to do it, but he's exceptional at tracking people or creatures through bush and recovering lost or injured personnel in tough terrain . Dónal briefly assisted the B.S.A.A. with their own survival / field medicine / terrain training as well as a conjoined division , and taught field navigation.

When the global outbreaks of 2012 occurred, he took it upon himself to participate in the joint global operation on behalf of the B.S.A.A, intent on evacuating some and recovering lost personnel along the way. Things went haywire the second virally contaminated supplies were brought into base camp, and it didn't take long for him to turn a few days later.

Upon being infected and mutated with C, days were spent luring others through the area he last remained in, employing those same navigation techniques to draw false trails and slaughter those who wandered too deep looking for something that wasn't entirely there any longer.

That is, until the draw to the Yukon.

strengths && weaknesses :

strengths:

Electromagnetic properties were developed within his internal structure, and as such, limited ability to utilize these came into play. Able to sense electric fields and communicate nonverbally using certain frequencies when required to disrupt equipment using electromagnetic frequencies if close enough.

weaknesses:

Eksitaja is able to use these to manipulate technology to an extent, and with the right amount of voltage provided, is able to gain access to various systems and gear reliant on electrical currents. Radios and other such frequency-reliant equipment tend to become unreliable in a close area, unless jamming avoidance techniques are used to prevent interference.

I myself write literate - novella , but I tend to match the length of my partners . i do not expect essays , i myself am very much focused on quality over quantity , and aim to build a well-made story first and foremost . my responses can be slow at times , and i ask reminders are only sent after two weeks without a response . i can sometimes be slow when it comes to responding to messages / inbox so please be patient with me. no godmodding , please .
