I'm getting really frustrated with tiktok's lack of moderation tools lately. I've been seeing a lot of hate speech and when I report it, it "doesn't violate community guidelines". People using racial slurs, coming up w new words/co-opting words from other cultures as stand ins for worse words (bop on tiktok is just a stand in for slut/whore) and the fact that so much is censored that we have to discuss everything using words like "corn" "pdf file" and "🍇" feels so fucking dystopian but ALSO its fucking annoying, it reminds me of when people say "r*pe" instead of "rape" to avoid triggering people as if the 4 letters were the trigger and not the fucking content of the message, effectively rendering any post blocking mechanism useless unless you can conceive of every single creative blocking out of the word. 😐 anyway

early last year i came to terms w how abusive my family was growing up, especially when i was very very young

i was talking to my mom on the phone last night and she was trying to get me to visit home, just "a weekend trip to see family" and idk how to tell her like. if the only people i was seeing back home was family i would not go home period.

this reminds me of a former coworker, we both have autism, and we did like a company personality test thing.

her #1 trait was empathy, and it was dead last on my list.

one morning she comes in complaining that she didn't sleep and then described in detail about how her neighbor was getting beat by her husband, like a very clear domestic violence situation, and seemed to not care at all about anything except the fact that she couldn't sleep.

and ever since then i wonder what the fuck empathy even is, as defined by neurotypicals.

Autistic spaces are getting so much more hostile towards people with low empathy, and it sucks

There was a subreddit I really liked, people were chill, and then there was a sudden influx of people making posts like ‘Autistic people have empathy! Saying we don’t makes us seem like monsters! Thats not a symptom!’ And people making posts explaining that no, actually, some of us do have low empathy got attacked and told they were wrong or ableist? And it sucks, because its just so hard to find a place to exist where you can be seen as not evil? I don’t know, it just hurts a lot to be told that

The draft should not exist. Drafting people into the military is a violation of human rights. You should not be able to force someone to risk their life. If you can't find enough people who care about a conflict to keep it going then it simply shouldn't keep going. You can't even force someone to donate a kidney using government power, why the fuck can you force them to donate their whole body and life to a cause they don't agree with or don't care about?
