PFE-87 Valkyrie
The exploration vessel of CMDR Mariah Andyxii. It has been on a nearly 4.5K light year journey from The Bubble, traveling into uncharted space. The journey has taken its toll on the ship’s exterior. The beautiful paint job it received before departure is being chipped away by the trip.

I am proceeding on a good clip. Several undiscovered systems have been logged on my way to the Heart and Soul Nebulae. Nothing in those systems stood out as something that need a more detailed entry. Mostly rocky or icy bodies.
I am making this entry now because I have come across a fascinating planet. A ringed HMCW. It is also amazing  the amount of atmospheric pressure present on the planet. Nearly 80 times that of Earth’s. I would not be surprised if there are compressed crystals on the planet’s surface. The atmosphere is also an interesting equal mix of ammonia methane and nitrogen. I never seen that before.

My logging system encountered an error and I was unable to retrieve the data from the past several system scans and jumps. The data is there, I just cannot access it. So unfortunately I will have to wait until I make port to get the data. I cannot risk shutting down any of my system in an attempt to get the data. Whatever the error was, it seems to have resolved itself.
I have made it the Perseus Arm. As intended, I will be making my way to the Heart and Soul Neublae. They are approximately 60 jumps and 3,282 light years away. It will be a long journey, but if the previous jumps are any indication, I will be heading into undiscovered territory. The past several jumps have been in systems in which no other navigator has registered with Universal Cartographics. This means from here on out, I will advancing humanity’s knowledge of the cosmos and what lies beyond. This is what I live for. This is my calling.

I arrived in this system three jumps after the previous entry. Nothing was particularly remarkable about this system except for the presence of a water world. Hegua MN-A D14-5 4.
What is remarkable about this water world is that it is mostly made of ammonia. The planet is roughly the size of Earth and it is incredibly hot. Thermal scans picked up readings of over 440K. That’s nearly 330 Fahrenheit! This planet would be boiling if it weren’t for the fact that the atmosphere is crushingly dense. Its atmospheric pressure is nearly 8 times that of Earth’s. As you can see from the visual log, the entire planet is covered in clouds, obscuring the surface of the planet-wide ocean.
I am nearly to my destination, the Perseus Arm. Only a few more jumps now. I think I will take the detour to the Heart and Soul nebulae. I can already see them in my field of view as I head toward the arm.

5 Jumps later. System scans indicate that their are geological sites of interest in present. The system itself is pretty unique. It is a binary system. Both stars have their own planets and the binary system has planets orbiting around itself.
I singled out three planetary bodies to conduct observations. All three were moons. A 2 a, AB 1 a, and AB 2 a.
A 2 a had silicate vapour fumaroles on its surface. Which was a first for my catalog for the Elysian Shore. AB 1 a had CO2 Ice fumaroles, another first. Finally AB 2 a had water ice fumaroles.
I am almost to my destination in the Perseus Arm. According to the computer I am about 23 jumps away. My target destination is Hegua MS-H b12-0. Once I arrive there, I plan to head up the Perseus Arm. The Heart and Soul Nebulae are nearby, however, so I might make a short detour before making my journey.

Two jumps later. I found another system with an earth-like planet and giant water world. This is, of course, not to mention that there are also a couple of interesting Class III Gas Giants.
In addition to these valuable scans, my sensors also picked up unique geological activity on one of the rocky moons orbiting the first Class III (Outordy MP-P C6-0 1). The signs were different than previous one so I proceeded to the surface to investigate. Indeed, it was something I had not encountered before, iron magma lava spouts. Fascinating stuff.

After about 4 jumps from the previous system. I came across a system with an earth-like planet. This is a first for my expedition. Discovering earth-like planets or planets capable of being terraformed is the primary goal for my mission. That, and just the joy of discovery.
The planet, however, has some problems. It is earth-like, there is liquid water, land masses, a water cycle and oxygen in the atmosphere. However, the planet is about 50F and its day is longer than its year by about 86 days and its year is 157 days long. Gravity is about half that of Earth’s and Atmosphere is nearly double. It is not the paradise it seems on the surface.

After making a few jumps, my cabin sensors picked up a system with a lot of geological activity. Outordy ML-D is a tertiary star system. It is mostly made up with gas giants and icy moons. What initially drew my attention to the system is that the first moon of the first planet of the primary star had at least 42 sites of geological interest according to the initial scans.
I completed my system scan and proceeded to make my way to the first planet system, a Class I Gas Giant (like Jupiter and Saturn). The planet is on its side as it orbits its parent star (Star A). It’s moons (like 1 A) are also following this same path with no inclination from the parent star’s equator. I performed a mapping scan of the moon and located all of the geological points of interest and made my way to the nearest one, labelled Geo Site 2. The geological activity at the site is astounding. There is water volcanism present which suggests that the core of this moon is still hot despite the severe temperatures on the surface (-300F). What is amazing is that this is the first time I have encountered this activity within the Elysian Shore. A momentous occasion to be sure.
