I headcanoned, in this AU, Ragatha is a lot more secure and has the self-assurance she needed being a trapeze artist. She's a people-pleaser, gaining the love and cheers from the crowd through perfecting her performances is all she needs. It gave her a purpose.

That is, until Jax arrived and they had their first performance together. Jax dropped her for a 'joke'. Her trust for him shattered, doubled by the humiliation of the crowd erupting in laughter, this sets her off to start abstracting.

Jax genuinely feels guilty and hasn't dropped her since, and he tries to compensate rebuilding that trust in their next performances. Ragatha's abstraction slowly diminishes with each successful performance, but has yet to completely go away; he hasn't verbally apologized to her.

The bittersweet part is that he starts to fall for her.

Thank you for noticing! I kept Jax's lanky physique but added a little bit of weight since upper-body strength is highly necessary for trapeze. Also, I love Ragatha in this au, so I can guarantee you're going to see more of her elegance once I find time huehue :>
