For everyone who has yet to really get into the nitty gritty of why there’s so much tension between Baxter’s VA and some fans, this is a really good start.

Joining the fandom was fun, but learning about his actions and how he’s behaved has just kinda ruined him for me.

I got lowkey mobbed on Twitter for openly disagreeing with the VA, and that’s just scratching the surface the impact he’s had in this fandom and on fans of the character.

baxter and his va:

baxter ward is one of my favourite characters in visual novels yet at the same time, i can’t stand him in waves. i love how he is written but hate it at the same time. his dlc was long but also had little substance.

i don’t like baxter’s voice. i just dont think the voice fits if that makes sense. the va sped through his break up dialogue that makes the experience jarring and the voice was too trying to sound like sexy man number 92. which isn’t all the va’a fault admittedly and it was the director.

it feels like they were trying to go for sylus from love and deep space but failed bc it sounds awkward.

i used to like the va as well. keyword used too bc the va comes across as -like- too involved with the community and makes me feel uncomfortable looking back? ik he “feeds” the baxter fans or whatever but there feels like a crossed line.

it’s the same reason i don’t like Genshin Impact childe’s en va. i understand doing some fun things with the community but it’s gotten uncomfortable. he constantly mischaracterizes baxter and people will take his word as a sort of gospel since he voiced the character.

baxter isn’t as angsty as he makes him out to be. he didn’t have a huge falling out with his parents— he just cut them off and in turn was cut off.

but because he intwines his person and his identity around baxter and being baxter’s ba- its so hard to differentiate between the two. like yeah- he is not baxter logically but it’s gotten to a point where i almost see nothing but him in baxter. in the new game? love baxter. what a little guy! but in ol:ba? it’s hard to be around him.

i redesigned baxter and re-wrote him somewhat because of this reason. i don’t want any sort of drama- these are just my personal thoughts. i have no other reason i dislike baxter’s va other than he is annoying and someone i don’t personally want to be around or interact with my art anymore.

The point of chilchuck isn’t to make him look young just to sexualize him, he’s part of a short lived race that is consistently made fun of in his world and taken advantage of because of people’s perceptions.

Half-foots have half the normal lifespan a tall-man (human) has, so their age is relative to that race and that race alone. You can’t apply long-lived race expectations to an entirely different, short lived one. Chilchuck himself mentions that in the story.

Reblog the fundraisers you mfs!!!!! I don't know why you all skip those to reblog some pic of a banner saying "FREE PALESTINE" or of news from Columbia University! Literally these people from Gaza have made an account on Tumblr and is writing in english to communicate what they need and you all are coming onto my blog or on the tag and not reblogging their posts. We have people both Palestinian and non Palestinian vetting the fundraisers! I mean more the reblogs, more the chance of the fundraisers gaining momemtum, the more there would be a chance of a donation. Please donate if you can and reblog!!! and follow them if it is possible.

@/mohammedayesh has posted about getting leaflets, telling them to evacuate Rafah. They are very low on funds. Go follow them and reblog their posts and donate if possible.

We have @/haneenatya too whose mother is suffering from eye stroke and need to evacuate. Please I have been following them for some days and it doesn't seem their own posts are getting much attention.

Follow them! They are on tumblr. Reblog their posts and donate. The protests in universities are being done on account of them. They should be our focus.

(EDIT: on re-reading my post it seems as if I am dismissing all that the students of universities are doing. I am not. I just meant, since all of it is to help Palestinians, we must not ignore them when they ask for help).
