Just realized something.

So you know how the villains in ikevil have tragic fates, and seemingly no matter what they'll succumb to those fates? So getting attached to them is just a tragedy waiting to happen because one day they'll be ripped away from you without a choice?

I just realized it feels extra relevant considering this is a live service Ikemen game, and we'll get our own version of the villains being ripped away from us when the game gets sunset then shut down.

Obviously this probably won't come until about ten years from now. It seems like it's profitable enough that Cybird wouldn't shut down operation prematurely.

... but it will still happen.

Unless they decide to make some library version of the app where you can still access stories, it's not like a game you bought that will forever be sitting on your device to play. From the moment it's started there's been a time bomb on it for when it inevitably will become 'old' and Cybird will move onto newer projects, like they've done with other games. Once again, unless they decide to do something different, but even then they can't keep making new stuff for it forever.

And that day it comes is ticking. And is getting closer and closer whether we like it or not, and one day it'll be here.

One day it'll be sunsetted. And we'll have exhausted all content of the villains. We won't get new stories and only have the old stories. Like looking back on memories. And the realization will set in that this is it. That they're images on a screen with lines of dialogue, made to sound human, but when the person puppeting them is gone, all they can do is repeat the same lines.

And then one day the servers will go down and whether we like it or not, after that we would never be able to see them again.

Deciding to stay with them and get attached is a tragedy waiting to happen, both in and out of game.
