Gemstone Headcanons

* Rose Quartz: Do they typically hold grudges? Are they the type to compromise as best they can during a conflict?

Spitfire tries not to, but she can hold grudges for a long time. She doesn't hold them against anyone actually intimidating to her, like her very scary boss, at least. 

Her willingness to compromise depends on the situation and, more importantly, who she's with. Against someone intimidating, there is no conflict, because she gives in without a fight. Against someone like a coworker, she’ll try her best to compromise. Anyone else, though, and she’ll stubbornly try to get her way, only compromising if she has to.

* Ruby: Do they typically keep their heart on their sleeve?

Bitter? Absolutely not. As long as he lives in Zone 3, with Enoch in charge, he's going to keep his true feelings to himself. He's just too terrified of his boss to risk it.

* Aquamarine: How insightful are they?

Ragdoll isn't particularly insightful in most areas. They aren't the best at reading expressions or understanding the problems, emotions, and rules of existent beings. Puzzles, however, are something they understand so thoroughly that calling it insight would be an understatement.

* Agate: What or who will your muse protect with their life?

Runt and Smol would die for eachother, if necessary. And they'd certainly kill for eachother. It's not like either is particularly close to anyone else yet, so it's only eachother they'd go so far for.

Another set of questions aligned to gemstones to help develop characters! Send in some gemstones to learn more about the muse(s)!

Onyx: How do they handle hostility from others, whether verbally or physically?

Opal: Are they the emotional sort?

Peridot: Are they open to new growth and change in any way, or are they resistant to it?

Prehnite: Do they find it easy to recall their dreams or do they hardly remember them?

Send In A Word, And I’ll Write A Drabble Or Starter Based On It

Run. Run, run, run. Just keep running. She has to get away. The Spectres are right behind her. If she slows down, she's dead. She has to keep running until she finds another way out. Turn that corner, don't slow down.

Why did the exit have to cave in? She's never been this far in, never had to find the any other exits. She's only got a vague memory of a map of the mines leading her. She just has to keep running until she reaches Pentel. Damn Spectres, making everything difficult.

There, another turn. Keep running until.... until she reaches a dead end. Turn around and slip past the corner before they catch her. Duck under that one's swipe and keep running. Another dead end. Dead end. Dead end. Dead end. Shit. She must've taken a wrong turn. There's only dead ends here. There's no way to go except back. Past the Spectre blocking the tunnel. She's trapped. There's nowhere left to run. She's going to die. Her breath catches, tears building, smoke starting to spill out. A terrible end to a shitty day.

First she misplaced her helmet and ended up being late. Then she gets reamed out by Dedan because she ended up being late on an Inspection Day. Then, as punishment, she gets assigned to the deep tunnels near the abandoned section. And of course, right after she gets to work the fucking Spectres attack. Then, naturally, one coworker Burned in panic. And he ended up taking out a support beam while attacking another coworker, one who she actually considered a close friend, causing the entire damn tunnel back to cave the fuck in. Then the rest of the her team ended up either Burning in their panic or getting fucking mauled by the Burnt and Spectres, while she was running for her damn life. And, of fucking course, more Spectres join in on the chase the further she runs. And now, she's fucking cornered, about to meet her damn end in a shitty abandoned tunnel after a really, really shitty day.

The smoke recedes, tears drying. You know what? Forget being terrified. Spitfire's actually pretty pissed. This was an overall horrible day, and she's sick and tired of it. She's absolutely done with this bullshit, and done with fucking running. She glares up at the approaching Spectres, grip tightening around her pickaxe. Maybe it's time for a little payback.
