I’m really interested in Elain’s personality type. She’s described as someone who loves social events and seemed like an extrovert. Now, post-cauldron she seems very quiet and reserved. Obviously, she’s traumatized. But I’m curious to see if she’ll go back to being the girl who loves parties and enjoys entertaining guests at balls, or if she no longer finds that enjoyable and will prefer staying away from the spotlight. Once she starts healing of course.

It says something to me that no matter what I try to write for Elucien, whether that’s AU or not, I cannot help but write the most emotionally intimate soulmate kind of scenes possible. Doesn’t matter if that’s not what was intended originally. Doesn’t matter if it was supposed to be pure filth. It will find its way in there. It’s just so natural for these two.

Just the fact that Elain will never have to feel like she's freezing again because her mate is the heir of the Day Court, whose warmth took precedence over any scheming or anger from her sister.

So with Nesta, especially, she actually started out as one of the wicked sisters, but as I wrote the book, and I got to a certain part where things change a bit, I realized that the way she acts isn't wicked. It's just like someone who has had a very unfortunate life and is a very proud, stiff person, who can't necessarily express love in the soft terms that Elain, Feyre's other sister, can" - SJM

I love Elucien because Elain would no longer be the complete opposite of everyone around her.

She would no longer have to be the soft one amidst an entire group of emotionally closed off warrior types.

With Lucien, she won't constantly be fighting against the tides, she'll float beside a partner who is a lot like her, who understands her without effort because he's so similar. With Lucien she'll finally have found the person who sees her without fighting to be seen.

It's not a bad thing to connect with those who are different from you but everyone needs someone who gets them because they're a lot like them. Who doesn't need a million explanations because their mind words in a similar manner.

When Elain's entire life has been her surrounded by those who are different, I look forward to her finally having a love where she doesn't have to feel like the odd one out.
